about half way thru it. it's amazing how he (Thomas De Quincey) describes the times so well that you can find yourself lost in the "labyrinths of London" in the 1800's. You can tell from reading how nice a chap this guy was. find myself engaged with him instantly. sharing his sorrow and his ecstasy like you were right above him watching.

great reading when insomnia seems persistant. mucho recommendo :)
 
It is a great book. I rate De Quincey as one of the sharpest prose stylists in the English language. For anyone interested in the poetry of Wordsworth, Coleridge et al, I also strongly recommend his Reminiscences of the Lake Poets.
