Heroin Found bags that may be a bit old, are they still usable?

Basically, I just found a bunch of bags that I guess my Mom found a while back and hid. I'm thinking they could be almost a year old, so I'm wondering if these bags are still usable or if something may have affected them over that time?

I imagine they must have lost some potency, but I'm just concerned I might be doing something less than intelligent by using these after such a long time.
 
Many things are best stored in a cool dark space... is that where Mom had your bags? (I assume she didn't have them hidden out in direct sunlight.) I would think that sealed bags stored in a dark area with a pretty constant room temperature would actually be ideal for many things because there is nothing (light, moisture, other potentially binding molecules) to contaminate them. I wouldn't think that they'd have lost any potency if stored properly, even unintentionally by Mom. :)
 
unless some sort of moisture made its way into the bags they, more than likely, still have some kick in them.



i am just assuming you meant bags as in powder heroin as your post did not elaborate at all...
 
They were in a closet, in the dark, aside from the light in the closet being turned on when my Mom gets dressed. I checked the bags and it seemed as if they had stayed dry and that there wasn't any mold or anything in it that would have contaminated it. They were surely exposed to some humidity and heat during the warmer months of the year, but when I poured one out, it seemed to be dry, so I gave it a shot and it all worked just fine.

Thanks for the advice guys. This felt like winning the lottery, except not quite, lol.
 
They are probably as good as the day you got them assuming they didn't get wet. I remember someone posting about their dope disappearing.. I still laugh at that. He is like 'the longer I would leave it sitting it would just disintegrate. I am guessing maybe they were getting wet or maybe it was super duper humid where he stored them.. I've never had anything like that happen though.

I have no idea why, lol. It's not the best idea in the world to flush stuff down the toilet when you have a septic tank, since pipes can clog, it can get backed up, etc. So I think that's why she didn't flush them. I think besides that, she was just afraid to throw them out or to take them anywhere because my Mom has always been kind of the naive, goodie two shoes type of person when it comes to things like drugs, so basically I think she was just nervous that something might happen where she could get in trouble for having them with her if she tried to throw them out, even if only in our garbage can, lol.

She also just might have just hid them from me when she found them all that time ago and just never remembered to throw them away or anything, then just completely forget that it was still there or something like that. She absolutely for sure wouldn't keep them for the sake of using them herself. My Mom can barely handle drinking more than two glasses of wine, I can't imagine what she'd be like after doing a bag of dope, lololololol.

Anyways, that's my guess as to why she kept them, but after all is said and done, I'm just glad she did keep them or else I wouldn't have had such wonderful luck in finding them. :)

lol when i was 18 my parents found an ounce of weed in my car and a pipe and took it from me...a year later i was rummaging around their kitchen in search of some alcohol and in the cupboard above the refrigerator what did i find? a, now brown, full ounce of weed and my pipe. i have no idea why they kept it i just assumed they had thrown them out because neither of my parents use marijuana. i think i smoked like a half ounce and didn't even get high...now if i had left a jug of liquor or a script of amphetamines that shit would have been gone the next day....i dont see why they just didnt give it back to me....what a waste of weed.
