Reducing DHT sucks.
Even a little.
I microdosed finasteride (200 mcg) and even then it's still horrible. Some image advocates are obviously prepared to make the trade off between feeling less virile, in a word, and retaining their hair.
There are many reports on reddit of topical serum being highly effective, and while absorption does happen, it seems the majority of systemic DHT reduction is avoided.
The serum concentration for effect starts at 0.005%, which is like 50mcg per ml of serum, the equivalent of 3mg crushed tablets in 60 ml of solution.
The solution being ethanol as the solute, glycerine as a humectant, and distilled water, in a ratio of 60:20:20.
Some nice before/after pics on r/tressless, but the reality remains topical finasteride compounds are not licenced by the FDA or NHS, and DIY is always considered suboptimal.
Any thoughts or experiences with finasteride serums for topical application?
Side effects, outcomes, etc.?
