Aw I doubt he's using especially if he can sleep and if he's openly talking to you about it [even though I DO know how addicts work]

Like when he's sick like this, is he in a debilitated form? His pupils large? Those I would check if he is sick frequently, but you say he's not! Soo Just a sidenote to confirm he's legit.

And I believe he is, because I go through the same thing as him. Like i said, being on dope for so long, the only sickness you DO feel is those of w/d... which are much like the flu's evil brother type symptoms lol.

And of course, off the d, you get sick, you get those symptoms, and BOOM association sets in. A drug addiction is not something that visits for a short time and peaces out. It leaves a lasting impression no matter what.

And for the flu, it's real shit, but medicine helps a bit and thats what helps me feel a little better= that there can be some alleviation [with normal meds] whereas with dope sickness nothing ever can help.

yea except ive actually been through heroin withdrawal and if you havent heres a little fact about it. You dont sleep. for a long time. and iv been sleeping fine.

yes I have been through heroin wtihdrawals, and IMO he might be actually withdrawing and not actually sick. How often is he getting "sick" I know I have been on and off opiates and shit and still have nto had the "flu" once this year. At most I get sick once or twice a year..if someone is always sick with the flu..thats COULD, be a red flag

addicts can be very deceptive and tricky..

and yes you can sleep through some parts of heroin withdrawals IF your use is very mild. If your use is heavy, chances are you will not be able to get a wink.

i am saying it's a possibility he might be using, he might be using just enough to give him those flu like symptoms but not enough to be throwing up with mad rls and shit..and he's covering it up by saying he got the flu.

Also, opiates only make you consipated when you are usin them, 12 hours later you can be withdrawing with diarrhea

After I kicked for the first 6months or so i was constantly getting strep throat or the flu. It was horrible it was like having to kick every few weeks without the the heroin high in between. I was miserable but after about 6 months clean i stopped getting strep/flu every month. I think it just takes time for the body to adjust and the immune system to rebuild.

Dude. The whole fucking emotional aspect to it. When you are dope sick you know that relief is just one shot/rail/pill away.
It's like being sick but there is a magic potion that makes you feel better and all you have to do is shoot some dope a couple times a day and you'll never be sick again.....

but yeah, most of the physical symptoms are the same. But the idea that heaven is just a shot away makes it wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy different than being regular sick. Cuz the sicker you are, the better the shot will feel. So it's a much lower low and much higher high.
