Forgetting why

Whatever happened to those days I knew
I saw the future, I knew what to do
Just a memory of those shattered dreams
Still confused, Im lost as to what this all means
Lonely and cold, Forgot who I thought I was
No one feels, no one knows what that does
All my our truths turned out to be your lies
My reality? only the clothe you pulled over my eyes
The people I turn to, are not there now
No second thought, time wont allow
So what do I think when I think I'm alone
And try to forget your voice on that phone
To answer all the changing opinions of who I am
For those who couldn't understand a mental jam
It doesn't matter, missin you dont keep me up at night
Gettin here has taken every strength, all of my might
And when it comes down to it, I don't care what you think
I know you don't make me swim or sink
Tomorrow I know where I wanna find me
It wont be long before we all see
What we were looking for all along
Maybe then I wont feel so wrong
I hate to say it, but I know it's true
You would cry too, if you only knew.

Beautiful work. This one really speaks to me. Especially these lines:

Well I like ALL of it a lot actually! Its cold and desolate yet could almost be percieved as slightly wistful. anyway I absolutely love this. its been a while since any poetry effected me so strongly including my own! Great Job!!!!
