I think anyone who has taken xanax has asked themselves more than once 'what the fuck did I do last night?' My question is how do people who actually need this shit function day to day? Wouldn't forgetting everything really screw with your life? Is it like that movie 'Mimento'? Not talking shit on anyone who is prescribed this, just curious.

that happend to me before, when i woke up i laid there for like an hour and finally figured out how i had gotten home

Yes, I've had some weird memory problem when taking Xanax in particular. I had ingested 2mg on Wednesday night, 3mg on Thursday night, 3mg on Friday, then I woke up on Saturday and the last couple days seemed like a fog. My friend had stopped over on Thursday afternoon to pick up some work reports I needed to give him, and I was thinking about it on Saturday when I was sober, yet seemed like he had come over on Friday. I'm rambling like crazy, but you get my drift, it seems like some benzo's really fuck with your memory.

People that have a "legit need" don't take 2 bars and chase it with a 6-pack... the average dose of Xanax prescribed is about .5mg with the sig of 1 tab every 6 hours prn ... it's like painkillers, someone with cancer takes an 80mg OxyContin and it killsthe pain, they don't get fucked out of their skull like someone that rails one up...

Phreex - I realize this. But I have a friend who just recently got on a prescription of generic valium amongst other things...and she repeatedly forgets conversations we had or forgets what she wore two days ago, at work when she tries to learn something new it takes her forever because she'll forget shit. That is where this question is stemming from...I was just curious how people who have been on these scripts for years cope with these side effects.

As the good doctor said - tollerance... when you're first put on a benzo, even a low dose, it takes time to adjust..
TRUST ME, once you take it for awhile those "side effects" go away ... I take about 2mg Klonopin twice a day simply so anxiety doesn't get to me - others wouldnt remember the day they had if they took 4mg Klonopin..
