Imo.. this is a life skill that is only gained from experience.. emotional intelligence and how to deal with shit when it inevitably happens in life..

Just be there for her until the wave be passes,
You don't always need to save their asses..

Equip them with the skill and knowledge to move on.. their (other persons) loss really. Anything else is kind of silly.

From someone who they know has their back.. just keep them on track .

In time they forget, and happy you were there with respect.

I may be wrong, but the sentiment is strong.

Some people learn to be a douche because that's how they are treated. Others learn the pain and do not want to repeat it. (To others)
