This show is um..ODD to say the least. I can't even explain it..it is anime on acid..but there is something about it I love..anyone else watch it? Its on adult swim where Inuyasha used to be.
 
FLCL (Furi Kuri - the American's have a habit of renaming things that shit me to no end) is a GAINAX masterpiece - its weird, strange, puzzling, goofy and funny - what more could you want? ;)

Do yourself a favour, try and get your hands on the Japanese dub!

Definitely one of my [adult swim] favorites, beautiful animation, action, humor, interesting characters and trippy-ness......what more do you want?

haste, I recall seeing the actual words "fooly cooly" in the cartoon (on a poster or tv monitor or something)
 
I saw it for the first time last night. Now i'm gonna watch it again tonight.

Depends how anal you want to be, I'm pretty anal when it comes to my anime hehe. ;)

It was renamed Fooly Cooly for the American market just like "Shinseki Evangelion" was renamed as "Neon Genesis Evangelion" It could have been renamed Fooly Cooly because it was mentioned or used within the anime, I'm not sure as I could have missed it.
 
Fooley Cooley. What is it?

I watch Fooley Cooley yesterday, and i dont understand the show. What is it about. Whats with the guy who has robots coming out of his head. Does the show make sense?
 
You really have to watch it from the first to last show to get a little grasp on what is going on. I've seen them all and i still am wondering though. I thinks there is only 6 episodes, wich suck because i really like the show.
 
I watched two of them and just sat there scratching my head. While the animation was superb, the storyline seemed incomprehensible. I figured that it was just heavily edited for American broadcast TV as there seemed to be a LOT of sexual innuendo and whatnot. Anyone care to give an explanation of the "plot"?
 
interesting show. It's amusing how the animation style changes throughout...one episode had all the characters in south park style animation...

it all makes sense after you've seen the whole series ;) i dont want to ruin it for anyone.
 
Haruko is a 19 year old member of the Space Police who comes to earth chasing a being composed entirely of energy known as Atomsk. Although she is a member of the space police, Haruko is very self centered and wishes to capture Atomsk so that she can consume his energy and steal his power ( Atomsk has enough power too steal planets). When she finds that he isn't on earth, she opens inter-dimensional transport waves in Naota (main character's) head by hitting him with a guitar. Transporting stuff across the galaxy is a huge gamble, but at the end of the first episode, Haruko manages to pull Atomsk out of Naota's head. Now Medical Mechanica, the space Police affiliates on earth, are trying to destroy Haruko and recpature Atomsk (who posses the robot known as Kanti). Below all this chaos is the story of Naota's coming of age.

This is definitely a cool show... but everytime i turn it on, its same 2 fucking episodes, and i never get to see anything else.. heh
