I have a serious phobia of food ruining my highs, that has gotten pretty ridiculous over the past few months. I went from 130 to 110 in a matter of months just because I would refuse to eat when i was about to get high or when I was high.
Could someone give me some information about how food affects pills digesting and what not. And when is it safe to eat when im getting ready to get high.(Time-frame wise) The reason I made this is because if I eat and then I found out im about to get high, ill force myself to throw up everything in my stomach.

EDIT: This is about Benzos mostly, but asking about a general rule for eating and highs.

Perhaps mentioning precisely what type of pills it is you plan on ingesting might make this question a bit easier to answer... Seeing as how different foods effect different pills (e.g. grapefruit potentiates opiates, but citrus messes with many stimulants etc)

Benzos mainly, but i also take opiates and amps, along with smokin weed alot. =/

Well, insofar as amps go... Vitamin C and other urine-acidifying agents speed up the rate at which your body excretes Amphetamines. Baking soda, antacids etc., on the other hand, potentiate them.

Foods that acidify the urine can lead to faster absorption and elimination of diazepam, reducing drug levels and activity and foods that alkalinize the urine can lead to slower absorption and elimination of diazepam, increasing drug levels and activity. Not sure if this applies to all benzos though.

A friend of mine contends that eating something fatty 15 minutes or so after taking opiates on an empty stomach potentiates them... no idea about the validity of this...

And how you can smoke pot and not feel the urge to snack on everything in sight is baffling to me and fills me with intense jealous envy.

I'm sure someone else has alot more knowledge about this than I do, but I'm running out to the bar to enjoy rainy monday night drinking and football, so I'm not gonna research it right now :)

That's my 2 cents from what I know off the top of my head.

I took hydrocodone at around 1:30. I had eaten a big meal at around 12 and still felt the full effects of the hydro. If you don't eat a big meal right before you take your pills you shouldn't worry about not feeling it. Also, I don't think eating and hour to 2 hours after you have taken your pills will effect your high because the dru should be in your blood stream by then. With opiates I usually take my pills with a mountain dew. The caffiene speeds up your blood flow and helps with absorption of the drug into your blood stream.
