Any difference between dexmethylphenidate and methylphenidate?

One's the d- optical isomer of methylphenidate, one's a racemic mixture. Same deal as with dexamphetamine (dexedrine) and plain amphetamine.

The reason for this is that for most drugs that exhibit optical isomerism, each isomer has different effects. Usually one is stronger than the other.

So what is it precisely that makes dexmethylphenidate 'stronger'?
