Focalin insufflation , cocaine craving killer

having add, ive tried all the meds minus meth, and out of curiosity ive searched for focalin and theres not much on it and its a lot of conflicting info, so i thought why not ask. heres what i found consistent and what im working with as base knowledge... i wanna use the bullet points so bear with me :)

  • Focalin and ritalin are methylphenidate, which can be insufflated, and also extracted so ur losin the pill binders
  • focalin is the d-isomer, so that means its twice as potent mg for mg as ritalin dose
  • x mg of focalin = 2x mg of ritalin, so what ud sniff in ritalin, ud sniff half that mg of focalin?
  • doses less than 20mg of focalin orally are weak, but does that translate to insufflation effect
  • what are good dose guidelines (i know start small and work up, but assuming i start at 20mg and find it weak, so i sniff another 20mg to catch up, how will i know what dose is right with the onset time causing a change in effect etc?
  • what is the usual dose FOR YOU personally?
  • what dose makes it feel similar to a good quality coke high,like mg to mg of cocaine to focalin, i know its subjective especially on the cocaine side, but just humor me with ur experience?

so how much focalin do you take (sniff or eat) to get a cocaine itch scratched or at least take the craving urge down? i know its not gonna be the same, but u know, ull smoke regular dirt weed if u cant get some good bud just to get a lil buzz, u know what i mean? thanks
 
It's really hard to answer that question. Both Focalin and Ritalin and DRIs/NRIs, whereas cocaine is a SRI, NRI and DRI. So, long story short, while snorting methylphenidate (Ritalin) or dextromethylphenidate (Focalin) is similar to cocaine, it will never be exactly the same as cocaine.
 
FWIW my group of friends and I call ADD meds used recreationally as "kiddie coke" or "diet coke"

As NT said, it'll speed you up, but isn't on the level at all. I hate all stims, except coke. I find it actually enjoyable and I hate being speedy.
 
i agree with you guys, and im not trying to make cocaine outta focalin, even tho thats kinda how it might sound....what i really am asking is a personally specific dose for different individuals/repliers.....like how much focalin do you insufflate in order to feel "similar" and/or euphoric effects, in other words recreational doses, not therapeutic, cuz a rx dose can be 20mg (orally of course)

so whats your experience, YMMV
 
I don't recall my doses for Focalin / Ritalin. Just took what I was given. For adderall I need around 40-50mg IR with no tolerance to enjoy the euphoria more than hate being sped up.
 
wow, so i kept looking and its a huge dosing window, some feel 10mg euphoria and one fool took 180mg at once! i think anywhere nearing 100mg+ is very dangerous. id be afraid to take more than 80mg at once, unbeleivable what some people try.

ritalin has a lot more info on dosing but its hard to use that info cuz of the mg potency, like some say focalin is equipotent, others say 1.5x, and others say it really is double strength with a smoother, cleaner high.

im reallly surprised even on erowid and google and stuff, not much on focalin at all

so anyone whos played with focalin plz reply

pj, thats quite a high dose with no tolerance, maybe u have add too?

No, I'm OCD if anything. Opiates work for me in the way stims work for AD(H)D folk.

I just don't enjoy stims at low doses, so it takes more to get the "proper" euphoria and enjoy the experience.
 
i think i know what u experience, low dose stims are kinda like the jitters, almost like a crash without a high, whereas high doses really get those dopamine receptors movin so u shift u into an altered state of tweakin euphoria?
 
Seems like a proper-enough summary of what's going on, yep. Kinda like too much caffeine until I pass a threshold (which I rarely care to do).

EXACTLY, a very good analogy

Ok maybe we should start small first

1) DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT FOCALIN/DEXMETHYLPHENIDATE/D-MPH IS OR HAVE HEARD OF IT? lol

in case u dont know, its a psychoactive stimulant that is chemmically and structurally related to amphetamine as a derivative and is pharamocdynamically similar to cocaine, its a DRI/ndri, or dopamine(-norepinephrine) reuptake inhibitor, (but also has SSRI properties actually, but much less binding affinity than to dat) which increases the dopamine level [in the synapse between nerves] by blocking the DAT (dop transporters) from bringin dopamine back into the nerve terminals for storage/later use/release, and it also causes a release of dopamine from the terminal as well like amphetamine though amp releases higher levels from cytoplasmic and vesicular storage but mph releases slight levels fromvesicular stores, so not as like amps monoamine releasing properties, (worth noting the posibility that DA release does not play a major role in the euphoric effets of stimulants, tho id guess the release of the monoamine da into the synapse would just offer the dat blockade even more da to hold), but dat blockade is the major dopamine increase. Its been said neither animals nor humans can tell between cocaine and methylphenidate when administered in comparable doses tho i doubt that if the cocaine is uncut cuz of sert RI of coke. focalin and cocaine have almost the same affinities for the dat, however cocaine has a much higher affinity for the serotonin transporter than mph with levels almost as high as for dat, which is why cokes more euphoric (kinda like, how amp/d-amp and meth do similar things, but meth hits serotonin a lot harder so its more euphoric than damp on top of BBB crossin but neway this is gettin OT, or at this point MAYBE move to ADD?)

2)Have you ever tried methylphenidate in any form, but focalin mainly?

3)if yes to question 2, what were the subjective/discriminitve effects and plz describe euphoria, with or without contrast to cocaine?

4) at what mg are euphoric fx acheived for you, describe the euphoria? ROA (not IV), either insuff or oral, or sublingual

5) finally, does focalin ever quell the urge for craving cocaine?

ive tried a good amount of add/adhd meds, and i just recently started taking focalin. handsdown my favorite add med yet, usually blow 10mg, but sometimes 20. the crash isnt as bad as adderal and it has a kinda spacey feel, more euphoric. never sniffed coke, so i wouldnt know how it would compare, but i enjoy it.
 
Hey man, you should really consider the wisdom of a) replacing one drug with another and b) taking focalin (which has a high BA already) by insufflation.

I know that you are largely satisfying your snorting fixation, but that isn't exactly healthy either. I urge you to get real medical treatment for your ADD and to use your medication appropriately to control your symptoms.
 
I like dexmethylphenidate, it even better than racemic methylphenidate which is pretty good too and definately up there with coke/amphetamines and nowhere near as shitty as ephedrine or phentermine. The feeling of methylphenidate feels kind of like somewhere between coke and amphetamine, but less body load(anorexia, fast heartrate), particulally focalin. Both Ritalin and Focalin have a 25% bioavailability. I like to use them sublingually, works almost like snorted.
 
OP, I have been abusing Focalin/Dexmethylphenidate for 7 years now. I began on it very early in its come out. my usual play dose is 10mg/20mg IR, its always worked well for me with out doing much more also, doing 3 or more in a sitting will really get you uncomfortably anxious. When I say anxious i mean full blown chest clutching dread. Sucks big time. Anyway i digress. if you are really looking for that great feeling. Sip on some brews or vodka with is this mixture creates Ethylenphenidate a serotonin inhibitor. The feel is really nice but as will all these popper pills, doesn't last for shit. KEEP ON CRUSHIN!! 7 years strong everyday, pretty sure i'll be dead in the next 7 LOL!

yes I know exactly how you feel.

15mg adderall and I just feel weird, almost angry, tired, bored, very snappy and moody. Not much urge to do anything.

But simply taking 30mg completely changes the effects, gets me going, easy to do long boring tasks like cleaning, and I love it in the moment lol. Just gritting my teeth, speeding while I scrub the f*ck out of some floors or something. It's not euphoria in the same way that coke is euphoric though, I enjoy the actual happiness of cocaine euphoria, where as I find adderall euphoria is just kind of enjoying the fact that you are doing some tedious task and actually finding it kind of fun and are enjoying the added energy and motivation. But it isn't just "feeling really good" like a line of cocaine makes you feel.
 
Hey, uh Doug... the OP is looking to move away from their addictions / problems with street drugs in a tapering fashion. That snipped of "advice" (come on, a glowing review like that is really only one thing in the long run) is about as positive as the sinking of the titanic was, or perhaps the crash of wallstreet in 1928.. yeah. Please don't glorify it so heavily, disclaimer or not. At least not if the OP isn't already talking about it. If they're already on that page, then whatever. I feel this is the same as suggesting needles to someone who has no interest, personally (big no-no).

don't snort ritalin/focalin... side effects suck... jittery/tweaked etc.

orally is good, but if you REALLY want to feel good on mph, plugging is the way to go. (seriously).

feels on par with IV cocaine IME/IMO.

*snip. Had to remove this, recommending that somebody snort 200mg of Focalin isn't HR.
