Stimulants Flecks of Pepper in Ice

My ice is good tonight, but it has what looks to be flecks of pepper in the "remains." Anyone know what that is? I have seen it before, but have no clue as to its origin OR wtf it is. I smoke with a regular glass bowl pipe.
