Hey guys, first off. Mods, I didn't know where to post this thread so move accordingly. I did choose TDS to post this because I'm looking to discuss sobriety and make some connections with other addicts like myself. Right now my AIM friends list is pretty pathetic and I see a lot of you guys use AIM. I've tried adding some of you guys directly from BL to my AIM list but it's not working.

So anyone who would like to be my friend on AIM, I'm interested in AA, Jesus, Freedom from Opiates & Alcohol. But I'm not gonna cram Jesus down your throats don't worry. My username is: Get2Think. Adios BL.
 
Hey there man, I'm gonna change the prefix to "recovery support" since that's what it seems geared towards. I'm sure you'll find some people interested in having an AIM sobriety buddy. You can add me my AIM is [email protected]. Plus I think this will be a cool thread for our Recovery Support section. I think having a list of AIM names available for talking when you need someone is important.

Yeah stardust recovery is exactly what I have in mind. I'm discovering that asking others for help and letting them into my battle with sobriety helps me so much. As a prideful person I never use to reach out for help and didn't want it either. That old way of thinking did not work. Now my recovery is not something I can do on my own, I have included God, AA, Bluelight, soberrecovery, family, and friends to help me to just "hold on" on those days when Im dying to drink/use. And 5 months is the proof that this works. I've never had 5 months before. So yeah I hope to meet other like-minded individuals who still enjoy using AIM.
 
Having a sober support network is incredibly important, and I would love to see this thread blossem into one. Great idea, so I hope people who use AIM all come together here. I dont use it myself but I look forward to seeing the BL community coming together for 'outside' help.

Get2think, you are so good about asking for what you need. It takes a lot of courage and it may be new to you but you are inspirational at doing it! I'm not on AIM but I know you will get more responses.
