hello forum! i've been browsing for awhile now and this is my first post. i'm an 18 year old experienced roller, and i plan on trying lsd for my first time sometime next week. i was wondering if there is any way for me to prepare for it, or know if i'm completely ready? i've read alot on this board about ego death and conscious expansion and it sounds like exactly what i am looking to experience. but honestly, i'm kind of scared of having a bad trip or something. any advice?

There's not much you can prepare for other than being sure you are happy. If you are doing it with other people, know they are trustworthy. If you want to know if you are completely ready, try some LSA first in the form of HBWR seeds. Eat 1, 2 , or 3. If you can handle this, you're chances for handling LSD go up a lot.

because vomiting during your first trip can cause one to have a strongly negative first impression of tripping

im an extremely open minded person, and i dont think i have access to LSA so i think i'll be okay with this. what about location? and how long will it last?

expect anywhere from 8-12 (and in some rare cases, slightly longer - my first trip lasted 14 hours, and I'm sure it was LSD) hours. as far as setting... I love outside during day, but it's a bit cold for that now. Just somewhere you're comfortable at, with people you're comfortable with. also, make sure you have access to music at some point (if inside, speakers, if outside, headphones)!

will i be sane and functional? because 8 hours is a long time, that means ill have to start in my house and then move outside, maybe to the car. can i drive?

Driving on LSD would definitely not be recommended. Starting out at home sounds like a good way to get into it. It can be helpful to have somebody there or that you can chat to easy any anxiety. And music is great while tripping, something that has a good positive energy to it.

Since you have not tripped before it's good to just pick the most comfortable environment possible and then once you feel the effects you will have a better idea of how you will want to make the most of the experience.

yeah, and most people don't get batshit insane on 1-2 hits of LSD, sooooo..... pretty null point.

True. 99.9% of people don't go batshit insane from LSD. Also, 1-2 "hits" doesn't mean shit, so that is a null point. One hit can have anywhere from 30 ug to 400 ug, although the latter quite is uncommon, they are out there.

All I'm saying that one can simply higher their chances exponentially by eating a couple HBRW seeds (which are legal and readily available in headshops and the internet BTW) beforehand. If there are no significant problems (other than nausea), bump up to LSD. If there are, you'll be happy you didn't take 800 ug of LSD.

doesn't mean shit? that's simply untrue man, it is extremely rare to get an excessively high dosed blotter, and the average is about 50ug iirc. It most certainly DOES means something because in general when we make life decisions we base them off of the relative probability of the potential consequences. You certainly wouldn't get into a car if there was a 50% chance of dying each time but you would definitely get into a car if there was only a .01% chance of dying. incidentally there's probably more of a probability of dying in a car accident than going insane from an LSD trip (that's an arbitrary observation, but w/e lol)

anyway, for a first timer, exaggerated nausea and vomiting, which are VERY likely with morning glory or HBRW seeds, is a BIG deal. no one wants to get their first impression of psychedelia from throwing up their guts, man. they're going to be exposed to a negative aspect of tripping without being very much exposed to the positive aspects (music enhancement, visuals, creative mental processes, etc... these are WHY people generally trip). anyway, i'm not gonna argue anymore, that's just my opinion lol. and probably somewhat close to what the guy who told him not to eat morning glories was thinking too

1) 1 or 2 seeds of HBRW isn't going to make you nauseous.
2) Losing your mind on LSD is much worse. You'd have more respect for this if you've seen it happen. FYI, it's not pretty, fun, happy, exciting, positive, or enlightening. It's bad, all around.
3) There is a potential for getting a high dose of LSD. There is no way of telling what the dose is. Average doesn't mean anything if you do happen to get blotters with 200-300 ug on them.
4) Probability of losing your shit from taking 1 HBRW seed vs. blotter?
5) If one can't handle 1 or 2 seeds of HBRW, then they most definitely cannot handle one or two blotters.

So, in the spirit of harm reduction, I say if you're going to take psychedelics start out light. It's not like LSA is that hard to get...

It is important to have stable surroundings for your first trip.

That means:

* be with people you know and trust (alone is not advised)
* be in a place where you can control the environment and what is happening around you.
* make sure you can keep yourself clear of unwanted distractions for the duration (i.e. do not put yourself in a position where you need to deal with your parents or any authority figure, or really anyone who might not support what you are doing.)
* don't plan anything of consequence before or after. You might not feel like doing much the next day.

Lots of people smoke weed while they are on LSD. There's a risk to that, though. It can turn trips in a different direction. Sometimes good, other times not so good. I might pass on that my first time just to be safe.

If you make sure you have a good setup - good people, good surroundings and lots of time on hand - it can really support a positive experience.

Good luck
