The other night I took xanax for this first time. I took one football had a couple of beers and that's all I remember. I was not too impressed with it. Was it just me? I mean I really did not feel anything at first. Then the night just went black!! I woke up the next morning on the floor. Afterwards my buds were tellin me what I did. I did not remember anything at all!! Is this normal? What's the point then?

Wow.... what terrible advice.... take more and try to fight off sleep? Are you trying to kill people?
Try drinking less or not at all. Ethanol and benzo's work on the same receptors in your brain and potentate each other...in English.....1+1=3. This can be especially dangerous if you don’t have any tolerance to benzo’s (like you) and if you drink excessively. Giving out advice like wanker up there did could seriously injure a person new to a drug like Xanax.
If you pass out and barf you can die because your gag reflex will be depressed. That is how Jimi went, and a hell of a lot of other people. Be really careful when you mix these. They can be fun, but you should work your way up to higher dosages until you know how your body will react.

What the fuck are you talking about? 2mg of Xanax and some alcohol isn't going to kill you, and yes, if you lay back and let the drug knock you out, well, it will be just like his last experience... my advice wouldn't kill him, wanker!

I'm sorry Greenlighter, what basis do you have to comment on this subject? Do you have any scientific reasoning?
There is a reason PhreeX is the moderator and Dr. Quack is not...
2mg of Xanax and beer is not going to kill him if he's not driving.

yes but, take more? what the guy above described was a typical overdose (meaning he didn't hit the right dose, not that his life was in danger). Xanax can be fun without knocking you out or fighting it. if he took a Xannie with a couple of beers and blacked out, taking 2 xannies and a couple of beers will make him black out even faster.
just take the xanax alone and see how it goes.

Shit! I've heard it is a common practice to consume large quantities of alcohol...do some coke and when you just do not want to party any longer, take two blue foolballs JUST to fucking get to sleep. Kill you? maybe if you choke on the pills while swallowing them.

I think it is irresponsible to give out advice like that when you have no idea how a drug effects someone. It was this guys first time and he had a strong reaction. There are people who have very very negative and dangerous reactions when they mix booze and benzo's. Just because most or some people can take a certain amount doesn't mean you should tell people to double the dosage and that it is ok to mix booze when they reacted strongly. A recreational dose can be found safely by tapering up. You don’t have to go blow your load and take huge doses before you really know how your body and brain react to these chemicals. Especially with one of the more deadly combinations of drugs, and especially with a new user. PhreeX , you are most likely right, but if you were wrong you could have killed or injured someone, that seems mighty irresponsible considering the respect you get around here. Doesn’t this board claim to be a resource for Harm Reduction? Aren’t you a MODERAOR? You are right on one account. I am a Wanker. But come on man. I expected more from you.

Especially with one of the more deadly combinations of drugs
This is where I have a problem. All other opinions aside, this combination is not generally accepted as 'one of the more dangerous' ones.
I understand your concern for harm reduction...but you're being a little too concerned. We've already stipulated that he shouldn't drive...A few mg's of Xanax and a couple beers is not deadly.

Fair enough.... I guess I fall on the side of caution when it comes to mixing booze and prescription pills. Speed.....Don't presume to know what will or won't kill someone. You are probably right, but the consequence of being wrong and giving out dangerous advice undermines any legitimacy this board may have earned as being a resource for users. There is a heavy price to pay for being wrong here, even if that chance is remote.

I appreciate anyones input. I just don't like how people critize or ridicul people that have different opinions. This place is really bad about that. I love coming here and there are some great people on here. I just get very defensive sometimes. SORRY
Anyways, thanks everyone that had some meaningful advice. NO I AM NOT GONNA TAKE MORE!! That's some fucked up advice when what happened before! hahahaha I am gonna try it again, just not drink any alcohol at first.

Benzos are VERY SAFE drugs... dare I say ALMOST HARMLESS? They don't have depressive effects on cardiac or respiratory functions, so there is no chance of benzos alone killing you - it would take hundreds if not thousands of pills.. when you introduce alcohol, the risk only goes up a *TINY* bit, and only if you take excessive amounts of each.. speed + benzos is also not dangerous as there isn't really a negetive stress on the heart (as you see with heroin or other narcotics) .. the entire notion of "fighting to stay awake" as being dangerous, well, thats just crazy talk!
As long as you don't get behind the wheel of acar, benzos are safe in most every respect (and you can safely drive after a little practice)..
