Opioids first time with any opiate need advice

my freind has 2 500 mg hydrocodone pills, i have never taken any opiates in my life so how much of that pill should i take to make sure i dont od but still allow for euphoria to set in?

im a little under 200 pounds

6 foot even

like i said no prior experience with any opiate so no tollerance

also to anyone who has taken hydros before, what should i expect?

500 actually refers to the tylenol cotent, not the hydrocodone content. it's probably 5/500, but it could be 7.5 or 10.

it's your first time, you're gonna feel really good off a small dose. b/c you're a bigger guy, I'd say stick to the 15-20 mg range and you'll be really stoned. you should start with 10 mg, and after an hour, decide if you want to redose.

I wouldn't advise going over 20 mg on your first time b/c some people do get nauseous and throw up.

Eat em on an empty stomach, have a glass of grapefruit juice 30 mins before, and it will potentiate your pill slightly
 
Also, 25mg diphenhydramine (benedryl) will help alleviate some side effects like itching and to an extend nausea.

Also something to keep in mind for the future, when using compounded opiates (AKA any non-pure opiate, like percocet or norcos/vicodin/lortabs which contain APAP tylenol) be sure to never exceed the APAP daily intake surpass 4 grams in a healthy adult. So no more than 8 vicodin 5/500 because 8*500mg tylenol = 4000mg tylenol

don't worry about ODing, I just read that you only have 2 of these pills, so 10mg is all you got. Take 1 and a half tablets (7.5mg hydrocodone) and see how you feel about adding the other 2.5mg hydrocodone about 30-45mins later.
 
I woudl recommend that you eat a meal if you have never taken narcotics before. It might make you feel like you are going to throw up otherwise. If you are wanting to get high from what I have read a meal high in fat content makes it feel stronger.
 
Best advice I can give you since you're new: If someone around you is snorting these, don't follow their lead. Snorting anything with APAP in it is incredibly stupid.

Another bit of advice: These things have a way of crawling into your life. Respect them and watch your intake, its easy to go from once a month, to once a week, to every day. Once you're one them everyday its really hard to quit, and coming off of them is going to feel like the worse case of the flu you've ever had. Just read some of the threads around here if you don't believe me.
 
Like others have said 500mg is the APAP content. I'm assuming they're 5mg hydrocodone, which means if you have no tolerance 1.5/2 pills should be straight.

Ahh I remember the days when hydrocodone used to provide me with a warm, sedative euphoria
 
Youll be totally gone with 3 or 4. Id recommend this, as we have a very similar build, and i used to take that dose back in the day. Imho, although i second triocomb with the benadryl, doesnt really matter how else you prepare.

I would just like to say take this guy at his word they really do sneak up on you and next thing you know you cant remember the last time you weren't high.
 
^+1 yup, very VERY true. technically, i started out using and abusing and loving vidocin/hydrocodone to get high. it was my doc for a loooooong time. fast forward four years and I've just started recovering from my heroin addiction... tread lightly OP, be careful
 
I would stay away from mixing them with anything else if it's your first time. They don't allow pill IDs here but look up the pill on google and see what the hydrocodone strength is (not the acetaminophen). Like some others said they are most likely 5mgs but there is a chance they could be 10mgs. Either way you'll be okay taking both, just might be in for a little more kick if they happen to be 10s.
 
I was like "500mg when the fuck did they make hydro pills in that size" lol
 
I got very nauseated my first time with opiates, so I recommend taking Dramamine or something, or taking them on a full stomach..but everyone is different. I would say 10mg of hydro your first time would be great, after an hour if u aren't sick, take 5-10 more.

Just be careful, I fell in love with opiates, but so far have managed to avoid severe addiction.
