OP, for the best results you should always look up info on any drug(s) you do, especially if you're mixing 2 or more, before you take them-lol it doesn't help you very much to get informed that you took too much after you've already OD'd. Lol... Since you asked after the fact, which most experienced drug users who want to live don't do, I'm assuming you're knowledge is limited and I apologize in advance if this sounds insulting or like I'm talking down to you. But seriously?? (Come on, you say you used to be a daily user of a significant amount of roxy...I would think you would have-at least some-of this information already, if not enough to put down your paranoia in the first place)
Smh, anyways- don't be stupid and end up dead...know your drugs!!!
Basically, there's two parts in gaining knowledge about drugs you plan on doing (or in your case-have already done):
PT. 1- the raw facts about your substance such as it's chemical makeup and the effects it causes (along with duration), and
PT. 2- using past experience others have with the drug to help predict how it will effect you .
Ironically, the raw information about the drugs alone, would've prevented the need for the second part of the equation, had you done prior research... It is also easily and readily accessible on Google, though I've found erowid.Org is also a good place to look (especially for drug info) ...so before you try this or other drugs again, I'll provide some of what you really came to the forums for -the personal experience part of the equation- and give you my advice along with some necessary information for harm reduction for your situation; not only to help with future drug usage, but to prevent you from wasting your time being paranoid to the point where you have to post your issue(which could be solved elsewhere, easier) on a forum when you should be enjoying the drugs!
Now, to begin my analysis:
First of all I would note the fact you used to take roxy daily, even though you've stopped for a while, could only increase your body's natural tolerance for opiates (although this doesn't happen to everyone). Secondly, since you've been taking norco recently, it only stands to reason that you will probably have an increased tolerance anyways. Increased tolerance in opiates usually means you'll either have to take more of the drug than with no tolerance, or use a more "intense" route of administration (iv>insufflation>plugging>oral in intensity of effects usually for oxycodone) to experience respiratory depression and other negative effects of OD . I assume you took it orally, which makes up for intensity with increased duration, as you weren't worried about negative effects until 2 1/2 hours after you dosed...not to mention those worries were about what might occur during sleep some 5 hours after you took it. Although on that time line, the main point where respiratory depression would be felt would be during the peak that occurred before you even posted, so you wouldn't have felt much more than maybe a burnt out or sleepy effect by the time you went to sleep, but certainly no respiratory depression.....IME for example , ive snorted 3 30's over a four hour period in a night with NO tolerance and didn't have any issues except for some mild withdrawal sickness the next morning. Therefore, due to your previous tolerance to opiates (from the above information given) and the relatively low dosage taken, this shouldn't have posed any real threat even during the peak(unless you were opiate sensitive, which I'd doubt you are if you used to be able to take 30-90 mg oxycodone a day), and would've more or less been wore off when you went to sleep.
It's good that you recognized that mixing the roxy with xanax can cause an increased risk of experiencing negative effects, but .75mg with no tolerance is negligible, and would not have caused problems by itself or in combination with a 30. Even with the fact that the xanax has longer duration than roxy and might have still been a little active when you went to sleep, you would've needed more like 1-3 or 4 mg of the xanax for any real depressant effects (in both respiration and physical action) to last or cause a need for worry in this combination, much less when taken by itself....
In conclusion: do your research first, and enjoy any substances you take within reason - be knowledgeable !! lol
