Opioids First time using Fentanyl- seeking safest ROA with low opiate tolerance

I've only had fentanyl IV for post-op pain. I was just barely opioid tolerant and I felt no form of nod/euphoria from it. Just pure pain relief.

Yes, and that is the main reason it should not be used recreationally at all. Ppl are just obsessed on it because it is the gold standard and most potent opioid on the planet (excl. analogues). Chasing the euphoria and all you get is respiratery depression and die. Great.

Ppl have OD'd on fentanyl even with proper use and tolerance because of faulty patches which release more than the stated dose. How common is that, go figure. I hope I never suffer that kind of pain that requires fentanyl treatment. Recreationally it is propable the worst opioid I can think of from many point of views.

I'm sure I've said this somewhere before, and I am not trying to be repetitive ...
I went from oxycodone/APAP to the fentanyl patch (bc of chronic long term pain). I was at the point where the percocet wasn't helping, and so my MD put me on the patch.
Now, a year and a half later, I'm on 100mcg Fentanyl and a very high dose of bt meds.
It really is best to avoid this drug unless it's absolutely necessary. I often wonder, looking back, why I wasn't given a trial of oxymorphone er or even er oxycodone. Now my tolerance is through the roof and there's no going back.
Just want to reinforce the fact that fentanyl (when used recreationally) is something that one will probably regret.
