First Time Smoking Opium

I smoked Opium for the first time today, and I wasn't all that impressed. I didn't expect it to knock me over like grandma's 160's, but i did expect to feel maybe like i ate i few percs.
It felt sort of like an opiate high, but no euphoria, and a general feeling of stupidity and laziness. It was fun, but not what i was expecting.
Is there any way to get really "high" from Opium? Do I just have to smoke more? I have a moderate opiate tolerance, which sucks, but oh well...any insights?
 
What form did your opium come in?
The opium high is as you described - a mild opiate buzz, thats it... just smoke more, and if that doesn't work, it's probably not opium...

It's black tar. It's definetly opium, just not strong enough, i guess

FYI there is fake opium that looks almost identical to the real thing. It's called soapium and is sold in the back of high times.

I did it about 3 years ago and was impressed. Felt like my bones were filled with helium. No experience with other opiates, however, so I had no tolerance.
Use a screw-open weed pipe and carb it with some bud. Good way to stretch your dollars.
 
Opium is meant to be smoked over a good period of time. So don't expect it to hit you right after your second or third hit. Just kick back, and make a night of it. Smoke at least for two or three hours. Then tell us how you felt.
 
If you go to a new age mother earth 'n' karma store, you can get an incense that comes in a yellow box. It is in black rolls pressed together in a block, about three bucks for an ounce or two.
Smells right, tastes right if you smoke it, right texture, right resin.
All you get is guilt, guilt and bad karma. I actually bought it for its unique incense form, a friend seen it, tasted it, etc. About a month later, a good friend of mine told me about his affirmed love of opium, and how he was saving a gram for a special occasion. I am not one to turn down an innocent looksee at anyones stash, So I asked and he accepted. It was incense, I didn't have the heart to tell him otherwise.

Just a question...how did you go about smoking it?? Ive run into some pretty unimformed fools that try to smoke it out of a regular pipe. It's funny. Or when they say "yeah, this bud is laced with opium." right-idiots...a homemade special opium bong,a gas burner with a propane tank along with skewers and a paperclip to squish the bass on will do the trick. ahhhh opium...brb...ok, oh and a half gram is a good amount to either put you on the nod or rushing...depending on your tolerence. hope that helps
 
Smoking opium isn't all complex... it's not like crack where you must "cook" it... it's not like meth where you must make a fancy pipe then evaporate it - to smoke opium you just apply a flame.... you can smoke it from a regular pipe... it's not a horribly harsh smoke, so a water-pipe isn't needed..

stepping in to defend the coolest tar known. Make sure to optimize your supply, and vaporize for best results. Always vaporize o...and if you use a real opium pipe, it will have a damper....which slows down the burning and gives you smooth hits. good luck. oh yeah, if you can't feel good after one pipe, then your stuff is nothing more than incense. on average opium contains roughly 10% morphine and smaller amounts of codeine and another narcotic alkaloid, in addition to plenty other things. It is potent, and you should feel a great deal of euphoria. best wishes...
