First Time Psychedellic 4acoDMT Advise

Do you think 10mg 4aco DMT is acceptable for a first time psychedelics user ? My buddy who I know is not trying it just for the kick but has actually researched psychedelics for a long while, virtually watching every documentary about Timothy Leary/ LSD / Shrooms, but he was only able to get his hands on 4acodmt. I cannot tell him not to try it because i would be a bigot, I agree that everyone should have his right in experimenting with himself in a responsible and after researching 4aco it seems fairly safe to me because it is very similar to mushrooms, (i guess its just one metabolic step to becoming psilocin ?)... My question is whether you think it is okay for him as a first timer to start with 4acODMT?

Also can you tell me what he is to expect, also what is the best thing for him to do in order to prepare for the trip ? I know that it is better for him not to eat that day, any other useful tips ? Like is it okay if the room had colorful curtains and Christmas lights ?

10mg is a good starting dose for something like 4-AcO-DMT. It won't be overwhelming but should serve well to introduce him to the world of psychedelia. To me 4-AcO produces a good deal of mindfuck but I think at that low of a dose it shouldn't be as present, but this chem as well as mushrooms are known for having a more intense headspace.

It's actually probably a good idea if he eats something light like toast or a salad 3-4 hours before he doses to reduce nausea. Also he may want to smoke a small amount of weed after dosing to further try and reduce nausea although he may want to have a pure 4-AcO experience and hold off on the weed for a bit.

Pretty colors and lights if anything are great to have. I would recommend that he turns the room lights off for at least a little bit and only have the Christmas lights on. Darkness + small points of light usually lead to neat visuals and tracers.

However, if this person is taking a psychedelic for the absolute very first time I'm not certain I'd recommend 10mgs in one go. I am very experienced with psyches & having never tried this compound, I'm planning 5mgs for my first dose. I should add that I trip only rarely & have a natural intolerance to almost all compounds but nontheless, I'd recomend this same regime for any newbie. I intend a higher does than 5mgs but 5mgs is my "4 subs starting dose" & if I enjoy it I'll dose the same again, possibly a few times as I have done when researching 4-ho-met, 4-aco-mipt/4-ho-mipt.

I have read of bad trips on doses as low as 7mg & very powerful trips from 12mgs, so I'd advise a little caution for someone with no experience whatsoever with psychedelic drugs.

In some cases threshold doses produce only the side-effects of a proper trip, so this is also a good way to introduce someone to a psychedelic, because it means they are familiiar with the bodyload effect & can ramp up the doses for more psychedelia without fear of unknown side-effects.

One again, I have not tried 4-aco-dmt personally.

Assuming you have the fumarate, I think 10mg sounds about right. I'm sure you'd be able to feel less than 10mg, but 10mg isn't going to be overwhelming or anything. My 4-sub starting dose is 12-16mg. If it's the freebase, you might think about starting lower, but almost all 4-AcO-DMT is the fumaric acid salt.
