Opioids First time oxycodone use - dosage/side effects advice - extremely opiate sensitive

Hello all,

My lucky cat just got a few 15mg Oxy IR tablets and she so badly wants to feel the euphoria of the fabled opiate high. Only problem is, I'm guessing my cat is extremely sensitive to opiates based on the 3 data points I have about her.

She took just ONE Vicodin 5/500 once and got extremely nauseous. Years later, she tried Vicodin 2 more times, (both 15 mg each) and both times she felt warm and relaxed, but was pretty nauseous for 2 days afterwards unless she was lying flat on her back. My cat is about 100 pounds and female, has no opiate experience other than those few Vicodins and is generally sensitive to drugs (except benzos....not good I know).

What dosage would you recommend she take?

Any tips on how to prevent nausea/possible itchiness? She heard taking a dramamine or bendadryl 30 mins before can make a huge difference or eating a small meal before taking the oxy can help too.

Also in your opinion, is it better to snort or to eat? She'd just like the closest thing to a nice mellow euphoria with the least side effects so any advice would be super super appreciated!!

As to your question.. If you are that sensitive to opiates, then I would not take a full 15mg. Start with half. And if you want to counteract any histamine reactions like itching, etc, take some anti-histamine before dosing. Also, eat it. Don't snort it. Oxy already has a very high oral BA, and is more efficient when taken that way,

when i was starting out, hydrocodone was (& for the most part, still is) my #1 DOC. i would start with 10mg & if i felt like i could handle more. that being said, when starting, i would take orally (because imo, it's the most effective, snorting is nowhere near) between 5 & 10mg. i would try half the pill & wait an hour or so, see how you feel. eat some toast or something beforehand, on an empty stomach i always get nauseous with oxycodone.

remember, you can always take more, but you can't take less. be careful!

Does anyone know what antihistamines would be best by the way? I've heard Bendryl and diphendyramine mentioned a lot but could Cetirizine or even a benzo like Xanax and Kpin work? I've heard that combining a small amount of benzos can really potentiate the oxy while also making the nausea go away.

I don't think benzos would have any effect on nausea but they do potentiate opiates by a very large degree, only problem, as I'm sure many people on this forum will tell you, is it is a perfect recipe for an overdose. So whatever, you choose to do, always start with low doses, one drug at a time etc. etc...

You really shouldn't even have potentiating opiates on your mind, given your past history with this class of drugs.

15mg of oxy with a pristine tolerance like yours could hit you pretty hard. That's why you should take 7.5 mgs, and then just take the other half if you need to. There's no drug you can mix with it that's gonna make it any better than the pure opiate experience...

Xanax and klonopin will potentiate it way more than you want or need at this stage of the game, and could possibly turn the 15 mgs dangerous...

15 mgs of oxy could make you pukey and itchy again, but it's not a dangerous amount on it's own...

Benadryl will potentiate it a little and help with the itch...but I'd still avoid it unless you need it....

Check the OD directory for lots of info compiled and organized by people who aren't as lazy as me! Seriously though, there's intimidating amounts of information on this topic!

Do not mix benzos with the oxy. Combining benzos and opiates, especially in people with no tolerance, is incredibly dangerous and increases the chance of OD greatly. You already said how sensitive you are to opiates.. why would you think about potentiating them? You don't need to do that if you get so fucked up from such a small amount of opiates..

Anyway, as far as which antihistamine to take.. preferably take a non-sedating one, like cetirizine.

As above posters have said.DONT mix benzos and opiates! Its very very dangerous.
Remember that when you read on here about people mixing benzos and opiates, they have a tolerance built up over years of daily opi use...and its still risky even then.

Since your tolerance is so low I would even say you could go as low as 5mg (one third of your 15mg pill) and still achieve a nice effect.
As for nausea, pick the least sedating antihistamine that still has good anti-emetic properties.
I think certrizine might be too weak, I would go for dimenhydrate. If you have to use a sedating antihistamine like diphenhydramine or promethazine then remember that you can acheive anti-emetic effect at a much less of a dose then needed for sedation.

Firstly, be careful you're standing on a really shittily made boardwalk somewhere in Louisiana over alligator infested waters...

Secondly, Oxycodone is roughly 1.5 times as potent as hydro, so do the math. 15mg oxy is appx.= 25-30mg hydrocodone.

The fact that you weigh 100lbs and 15mg of vicodin made you feel sick for days is quite worrysome. I know you don't wanna hear it but quit while your a head.

I WISH opiates made me sick...that's why I can't drink alcohol because it makes me sick as hell.

Just be warned, once you feel the warm embrace of Morpheus you will never get back...to where you onced belonged. lol but seriously love the beatles.

Good luck, and don't mix other shit till you are very aware of your proper opiate dose.

(p.s. your "proper" dose is NOT struggling to keep your eyes open and feeling like you're in heaven)
