Hi Everybody
Up until last month I was taking 45mg of morphine sulfate er 2x day and oxycodone 15mg 4x day. Last month Dr upped morphine to 60mg 2x and cut oxy's to 3 per day.When I went for my monthly Thursday I told him the morphine was doping me up way to much and making me sleepy so he gave me 10 Fentanyl 50mcg patches and kept my oxys at 3 15's a day. It has now been 24 hours on this first patch and I almost feel like I'm on the edge of withdrawls, the oxys help but it doesn't feel like the fentanyl is working yet. It definitely has not helped my pain yet as my lower back put me down today it was so bad.
I have been taking opiates for a long time and have been known to throw a couple or few extra back just for the euphoria but this fentanyl shit scares me. My best friend as on the 100 mcg patches for a couple years before he decided to suck on one after it had been on for 2 or 3 days, aside from he projectile vomiting he loved it. He eventually built his tolerance to sucking on 2 100 mcg patches in less than 8 hours, that was sucking down a whole patch at once, no break! Anyhow I don't think I will be messing with these like that, my wife controls my meds anyhow, I'm sure you can guess why.
Mainly I just wanted to get some feedback on first time fentanyl patch users, by the way this is a Watson patch and has the gel inside it. I put it like on the left side of my chest under my heart which in insert diagram it shows you can put it above your heart and other spots. Thanks everyone and I 'm glad to be a new member!
