Opioids first time IV, bruise

i tried to IV some oxy ir pills and i was unsuccessful, so i ended up shooting in my mouth, but now a week later a bruise formed on my forearm where i tried to put the needle in, but i didn't inject anything. should i be worried?
 
Wait, the bruise formed a week after you tried to inject, or the bruise formed when/after you tried to inject and is still there a week later?
 
it just popped up today, i know it wasn't there 2days ago because i successfully injected then, in a different place, and i'm almost positive it wasn't there yesterday.
 
I can't imagine why it would turn up a week later. Is it possible you just didn't notice it?

When I was first teaching myself to IV, on a couple occasions (I have shitty veins :| ) I accidentally jabbed the needle right through the vein and it would bleed out into the arm behind it, leaving a spectacularly ugly brown/blue bruise that would pop up the next day then take a week or two to fade. Is it possible that's what you did?
 
it could be possible but its not that bad its just like this yellowish color and im almost positive it just popped up today because as i mentioned i shot up 2days ago so i was looking at my forearm and didn't see it
 
If it's just a bruise I wouldn't worry about it unless it gets darker/larger or doesn't fade.

It sounds like it's a bruise that's healing. Keep an eye on it. If it's inflamed and painful and doesn't get better in a few days, go get it checked out.
 
I get that sometimes 4 days after I shoot. Just a nasty yellow coloring in the spot. I actually have one right now from a doctors IV I got last week. Doesn't hurt or anything, just yellow.
 
yeah it's just like going to the doctors, how you bruise sometimes after you get blood taken. it just happens sometimes :)
