First time grower-How soon can you sample your crop

dry your harvest for a week.
try it.

personally i always cure my buds for about 2 weeks after the drying process (before i sample it), increases the taste & smell quality,
and during curing, the process which makes trichomes (yes, there is only ONE "R") keeps on going. so it makes your harvest more potent.

enjoy ;)

do you mean sample like try it before it's ready? If so just pull a few nugs off and allow them to dry and smoke. If its good now itll be great later once it's trimmed and cured properly.

a couple of weeks drying after properly flowered.
then cure for a week or so.
grind, roll then enjoy

oh man,.....grab a few of the smaller nugs off the bottom of the plant......let em dry a while and smoke em....

as early as you want, but being patient and waiting until harvest time and after proper drying and curing is the best way

After you've harvested and dried let them cure for at least a week before you sample it. However, if you've got the patience, curing for a month or more makes for an extremely smooth (and potent) smoke, which I prefer. If you absolutely must sample as soon as possible, let a small jar cure for a week, and leave the other jars to cure for the full month. Happy smoking and good luck with the crop!

Well, I had to do some trimming on one of my plants, so I dried out the leaves and then vaped them.
Contrary to what I thought would happen, I got BLASTED.
This was definitely the least mature plant I have ever smoked as it was only 3 weeks into flower, and I thought I would get a mild buzz at best. The high was super heady and clear which I doubt the final product will be, given that it's mostly indica.

so basically, if you have a vaporizer, you can sample your crop anytime you want haha

Ive heard some people claim this, im not completely convinced it gets stronger.

Ive always though once you harvest a plant it stops growing, I would assume this would be the same for the trichomes, except they wouldnt grow over time they would degrade into cbd's.

it doesnt get stronger, but the chlorophyll breaks down into sugars making the bud taste better hence why cured bud tastes better than non-cured. Trichomes are formed when it's growing, not when it cures

Me and my friends were so anxious to sample our crop one night..

We cut off a few buds from the live plant, stuck them in the microwave in a paper bag for a minute or two. Smoked them 15 min after picking. Very harsh and not very potent but it lasted the night.

Taking the time to cure and manicure your buds is what makes they awesome.

Wouldn't microwaving any bud for a few minutes make it lose its potency?

If you cure for the proper amount of time the sugars will break down as well, plant sugars actually just make the smoke harsher, not any better tasting.
