I guess I always kinda walked a fine line with pain killer...and have had a pretty high tolerance. It's day 3 now without taking opana and the starting on day 2 I felt pretty shitty. Day 3 was the worst... EXTREMELY depressed, suicidal, slight cold sweats, lethargy, diarrhea, etc.

I usually insufflated 40mg opana ER to get fucked up, and I wanted to know if I should continue doing the cold turkey route, or taper the opana dose a certain way so I can come out of addiction and not feel the harsh withdrawal symptomns? I've tried immodium and aleve, but not much is helping..

Since you are on day 3 I would suggest trying to stick it out cold turkey without a taper. Lots of hot baths/showers, loperamide, and sedatives (benzos, z-drugs and even some sedating anti-histamines) can all help some. It will still be a bitch, but less of one. Keep yourself as distracted as possible, too. Also, clonidine is a godsend for opiate wd's if you can get any, really helps with the sweats and hotflashes and such.

Thanks man, I'm actually about to score some opana now for a taper.. I don't have any benzos, or any access to any prescription drug that would help really, I'm reallly trying to get some suboxone since I know that will make withdrawal so much easier.

I advise against this. It will set you back, you have likely already jumped over the hardest part of the wd's. Just saying, tapering on Opana will be hard.

definitely don't take opana again, not to be mean but that's a stupid consideration. You're already 3 days into withdrawals. My guess is that you are just coming out of the peak of withdrawal, and you will soon begin to feel normal again. If opana withdrawals are anything like oxy in length of time, then you are halfway through, if not farther, along with your withdrawals.

i used to try to "taper" but putting that into practice when your addicted can be difficult if not impossible.
Its to bad you got another opana..you went through the worst part physically!!

^^ Yeah same here, people tend to think oxycodone and oxymorphone are interchangeable, but the oxymorph has a lot longer half-life so it stays in your system longer and is harder to get out. It's more comparable to methadone than oxycodone. This will also fuck up your taper unless your only dosing every 36 hrs (as if waiting 23.9 hrs wasn't hard enough, right?)
