First Time DXM: *confusion and extreme discomfort*

Sorry if this should be in one of the DXM subthreads. I wasn't entirely sure where or how to put it there. If one of the mods wants to move this, please do.

First off I'll try and introduce myself a little bit. I've been lurking on the boards for quite some time now. I'm fairly experienced with cannabis and use alcohol on occasion. I've also had a few experiences with codeine and hydrocodone.

Over the last few weeks I've been looking into expanding my drug experience beyond the basic alcohol cannabis and pain killers. Me and a friend have been very interested in trying mushrooms but have been unable to find them. However, the other day i just had the urge to experience something new and different. So to make a long story story short, i did some research on DXM and went to the local store and bought a bottle of syrup with about 350 mg of DXM in it.

I planned on taking it later that night but I ended up going out with friends to a party. I drank 6 beers and smoked 3 or 4 bowls. Needless to say i was definitely not sober when i arrived back home. My dumb ass decided to take the DXM anyway. I had eaten a small mango a few minutes before dosing and smoked a j half an hour after. Anyway i started to feel... different. All of the sudden I couldn't concentrate very well on the xbox i was playing.

The experience continued to escalate and i began to feel nauseous. The next 2 hours are a blur of grayish green CEV's, overall body discomfort/ nausea, a sense of being very confused, and what i conclude to be the dissociative effect. Basically i felt "really fucked up" (definitely in a bad way). The dissociative mindset was the only redeaming part and that couldnt be explored because of the discomfort i was experiencing. During a large portion of the experience i just wanted it to be over. I eventually blacked out (i guess thats what it was) around 3-4 hrs after dosing, and woke up hours later with a nasty headache.

My question is was my discomfort and bad feeling the result of too much alcohol? I feel like thats why but i want other opinions. If DXM is always that intense/ uncomfortable idk if i want any part of it in the future.

Sorry for being so lengthy. Once i get started on something i cant really stop or leave out details

the alc is probably what made you feel so shit and dissociated, DXM does that on it's own and when you mix a bunch of booze it just gets way worse

ok thanks. i expected to be confused i guess. i just felt terrible the entire time. hopefully DXM doesnt always make me feel that shitty

DXM is highly individual, some people get good effects but others not so much. It always makes me feel like I'm dying.

Ignore all of the people who are telling you that this is the typical DXM experience. It isn't. It's the typical too much alcohol/weed experience, okay? You didn't give DXM half a chance in this setting, so don't kid yourself that you know what DXM does - it was killed with all that other crap.

Thanks for the input. I figured that's what the problem was. About 15 min in I thought about it and knew it probably wasn't the best time to try this. Alcohol strikes again...

Yeah it definately sounds like you were ready for bed not ready to start your first dissasociative experience on a long-lasting dissasociative like DXM.

Being tired tends to make DXM a lot worse for me. I prefer to do it during the day now, first thing when I wake up so I have an empty stomach.
