Weight: 90kg (200lb)
Nearly middle-aged healthy (diet & exercise/physically - mentally...eh) male.

Opiate/Opioid Tolerance:
  • 40mg Instant Release Oxycodone gets me noddy (on an empty stomach or rectal administration if recently fed).

Benzodiazepine Tolerance:
  • 8-10mg of Alprazolam taken orally or rectally gets me high, and puts me to sleep when I'm ready (on an empty stomach or rectal administration if recently fed).
  • 8mg (all I had available) of Diazepam had me feeling really relaxed and had great anxiolytic effects (not a care in the world!)

I have never had Temazepam. I've also never mixed benzos with benzos (want to though). I've mixed benzos with opiates/opioids (4mg Alprazolam + 20mg IR Oxycodone = HAPPY DAYS :)

Questions:

  1. How much for first time recreational dose of Temazepam?
  2. How much for first time recreational dose of Diazepam?
  3. How much of each if combining either three Benzodiazepines listed (a) Alprazolam (b) Temazepam (c) Diazepam?
  4. Is there a significant increased recreational feeling when combining either (or all) of the three aforementioned benzos?

*Additional possibly noteworthy information:
Infrequently add Promethazine or Diphenhydramine to both my benzo and oxy recreational doses. I would describe my Alprazolam tolerance as high, and Oxycodone tolerance as moderate-high.

Thank you, and good day.

You mean x20?

If 10mg Diazepam is the equivalent of 0.5mg Alprazolam that means 20 times.

So considering my dose of Xanax is 8mg I would need 160mg of Valium to get high? That sounds way off!

I've always heard 10x, but I see now some sources says 20x. I would take 10x but with benzos I don't have the best dosing track record aha @___@

IMO/IME the charts are not meant for recreation (sedation/muscle relaxation) and should be used as a starting point of estimation (experiences/doses vary from person to person); for me personally 1mg xanax = 10mg valium, for recreational/sedation purposes. 30mg valium feels like 3.5-4mg xanax, but valium is MUCH more sedating than xanax.

IMO/IME 0.75-1mg xanax feels like 15mg temazepam, 30mg temazepam feels like 1,75-2mg xanax, 60mg temaz feels like 4-6mg xanax

but to me xanax is dull and boring, so it might be different to you. i like temazepam and valium SOOO much better than xanax. xanax dulls my opiate highs, i dont really like alprazolam though so i mgiht be biased.

I just want to warn you about tolerance.
Even after 1 dose.
Do you want to ruin any future benificial use of temazepam for a one time dose, that you'll prob not remember tomorrow?
The same with diazepam, I'll give you an example, when I was first prescribed 15mg a day I took 60mg as my first dose(I hadn't used diazepam for over 10 years prior). It knocked me nicely and I thought fantastic. The next day 20mg felt like nothing. Bear in mind that the long half life has a big role to play too, but bottom line, 6 months later and I wish I never took that first dose amount.
This is from my experience and I'm not saying don't take them, just be aware of the struggle in the future to find that spot and using benzos to try and do that, nah...not for me .
And don't mix benzos.

You might not be too far off!

I took 10mg Diazepam, and 2 hours later felt nothing. So if my recreational dose of Alprazolam is 8mg then 80mg Diazepam might not be a stretch. Shame. That's too many pills to get the same (similar) effect as 4 Xanax.

It varies

I'm realizing, but there would be a rough approximation that one could make with confidence.

I think you might be close too. Just seems like very high amounts to realize similar achievable effects obtained through much smaller Alprazolam doses.

I take your point, and thank you regarding the bold - if you'd like to elaborate on it though? - but I want to take the minimum amount required for a recreational, not therapeutic, effect - not the maximum. Hence, the thread. I realize how rapidly I adapt to benzodiazepines and don't want to impair any future recreational benefits, but unfortunately recreational dosing does just that.

mixing benzo's is great as long as its not an everyday thing, i am prescribed 60ml diazapam and 40ml temazepam a day (collected monthly) and i binge and finish the lot within 2-3 days, i know it sounds bad but at least this way i get a good 3 day mashup and then i dont get a habbit(well to be honest my partner is on 30ml diazapam a day so i do take 15ml a day for the rest of the month, anyway bottom line depends what you are looking for and coming from someone who has come of methadone/subutex, benzo's are HARD HARD HARD to come off nearly as hard as methadone, but NOTHING I REPEAT NOTHING IS AS BAD AS COMING OF THE JUICE, Hope this helps.

Off the "JUICE" as in steroids?

Can someone please elaborate on the symptoms, and subjective feelings of benzodiazepine withdrawals?

^Here you go:

It is characterized by often severe sleep disturbance, irritability, increased tension and anxiety, panic attacks, hand tremor, sweating, difficulty in concentration, confusion and cognitive difficulty, memory problems, dry retching and nausea, weight loss, palpitations, headache, muscular pain and stiffness, a host of perceptual changes, hallucinations, seizures, psychosis,[1] and suicide[2]

Some withdrawal symptoms are identical to the symptoms for which the medication was originally prescribed,[22] and can be acute or protracted in duration. Onset of symptoms from long half-life benzodiazepines might be delayed for up to three weeks, although withdrawal symptoms from short-acting ones often present early, usually within 24–48 hours.[28] There may be no fundamental differences in symptoms from either high or low dose discontinuation, but symptoms tend to be more severe from higher doses.[29]

Daytime reemergence and rebound withdrawal symptoms, sometimes called interdose withdrawal, may occur once dependence has set in. Reemergence is the return of symptoms for which the drug was initially prescribed, in contrast, rebound symptoms are a return of the symptoms for which the benzodiazepine was initially taken for, but at a more intense level than before. Withdrawal symptoms, on the other hand, may appear for the first time during dose reduction, and include insomnia, anxiety, distress, weight loss, panic, depression, derealization, and paranoia, and are more commonly associated with short-acting benzodiazepines discontinuation, like triazolam and lorazepam.[23][30] Daytime symptoms can occur after a few days to a few weeks of administration of nightly benzodiazepine use[31][32] or z-drugs such as zopiclone;[33] withdrawal-related insomnia rebounds worse than baseline[34][35] even when benzodiazepines are used intermittently.[36]

The following symptoms may emerge during gradual or abrupt dosage reduction:

He's referring to methadone, not steroids.

Benzodiazepine withdrawal is serious business. It, unlike opiate or amphetamine withdrawal, can kill you. Treat benzos with respect and remember that they're not really recreational drugs but medications.

Wow! That there is some severe potential withdrawal results; death!

Although I am prescribed them for therapeutic treatment, I have a tendency to indulge in recreational use. The appeal is gradually declining though as dosing has increased to a point where it is an absurd amount to obtain a portion of the initial sedation, anxiolytic, and general feel-good/slight euphoric feeling when first recreational doses were administered.

Benzo tolerance appears to occur much faster than any other drug I've (ab)used: Ice, heroin, marijuana, cocaine, synthetic opiates (Oxy), LSD, ecstasy, MDMA, speed, can't think of any others just now.

And from my understanding, it quite literally takes at least one month of complete abstinence from all benzodiazepines to only effect a mild reduction in tolerance :(

But I LOVE Alprazolam when you get the hit you're seeking.

^Here you go:

Thanks again, V. As always, you're willing to help and share your time advising us less informed folk.

Wow! Benzo withdrawals are serious business. I thought kicking H was bad.

As a point of interest, approximately how long a period of daily benzo use would result in withdrawals without tapering off?

And is there ever a necessity for a patient to be on life-long benzo treatment?
