Hey everyone im from Boston MA this is my first post on BL although I've used the site for over a year. I'm not really sure why I decided to wait this long before posting. This past year my recreational use of oxy 30s quickly turned into a daily 100mg+ habit I've weened myself down to 30 mg and have now gone cold turkey these past 6 days. I'm turning 19 next month and i really dont want to go through another birthday nodding off and i have a genuine desire to quit but it seems that withdrawal symptoms are only increasing each day not fading away as did my withdrawals with cocaine/base. Im well into my second term of college courses and I cant function without beautiful blue 30s any input would be appreciated i just needed to get all this off my chest more than anything

Welcome to the site, a good place to get some help. Being in school your in a tough spot to stay clean but the decision is yours. Set some priorities for yourself because partying is hard to avoid and personally it was my major in school. But I can tell you my life was changed on account of that and I do regret it 40 yrs. later and believe me those yrs. go quick. Your young and if bright I'm sure you will do better than I did. Enjoy the site its fun as well as informative, try posting this on another forum and you should get the assistance and info you've asked for.

Greetings! It seems like you've gotten yourself into quite the pickle, I (and many others here) definitely understand how hard it can be to try to do school and balance a drug habit. I definitely couldn't.

Opiate wd's last longer than cocaine wd's. I can't personally speak from experience for the cocaine, but from my knowledge, the wd's last roughly a week or two.
Opiate wd's last quite a while, and depending on how long/how much/what type of opiates you've been taking, you might even get Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome, (aka. "PAWS") that is specifically related to opiate withdrawals. It can take months to even start to feel like yourself again. I don't want to seem like a downer though, I definitely support your decision to quit, and I wish you good luck and keep it up, you're doing well. 6 days is a long time to abruptly stop a habit. You're almost at a week! :) Its a tough decision to make. Feel free to pm me if you'd like to talk or have any questions. =D
