Bluelighter
This is a poem I wrote today and one of my friend's who is also a fellow bluelighter loved it so I thought I'd share it with you people. Here it is.
As the bass rises up my bones start to shake,
The speakers are rumbling and the floor starts to quake.
The drum breaks loose like never before,
Unleashing it's fury on all of the floor.
The MC hits the phatty and then starts to shout,
REWIND SELEKTAH!, and rinse the fuck out!
The plate spins backwards to a sudden stop,
Then the MC shouts again 'once more from the top'.
It plays once more all the way through,
Then the MC say's 'to all jungle kru'.
The guy in the camo was daning like wild,
You could tell he was diggin this style.
Lungs filled with smoke and eyes that were blood red,
What do you expect from this drum and bass head.
The fast life I'm living, about 170bpm's plus,
And that nasty disstorted bassline, oh that's a must.
Now back to the party and onto the floor,
So I can finish this story and tell you some more.
The DJ was juggling beats way more than one,
Man this made the party so much more fun.
The room filled with lights and a heavy haze,
All I can say to my self is, 'these are the days'.
It's my turn now to go on the decks,
All the ganj I smoked I must be a wreak.
I start off the set with one of my best,
Hoping the crowd will show there impressed.
I can tell it's almost over from the dimming lights up above,
I go down on the floor and receive much love.
My set went good and so did the night,
Everyone was happy and there wasn't one fight.
Drum and Bass to me is more than a beat,
It's something I live by at home or on the street.
The darker the better, jazzy is good too,
tech-step to f-step is all loved by this guru.
My live is a beat with a dirty bassline,
I'm happy with my live and I can live it just fine.
