Fined £180 for half a gram of Mephedrone

Yeesh, noone likes a grass. Did whoever it was pop down to the forestry commission next and inform them that there were bears shitting in the woods? Hard luck.

as for the debate, we had a good discussion in the car, they were nice to me and in some way i feel they didn't want to fuck around arrest me. because of procedure i think they were stuck with processing me through the system or something. i get the feeling they agreed with me on quite a few points, they were decent people

I think you might be giving them too much credit for being nice. They do recieve training on how to talk to people so they appear "nice". With half a gram of class B they would have had the option of just giving you a caution or even just throwing it in the bin and saying "Go home sonny". Taking you all the way to court means they were intent on fucking you upside down unto their last dying breath. That's not nice as far as I'm concerned :\

ah well guess it could be worse, probably would be banged up for months in other countrys

Still a fucking pain tho colt - it's fucked your chances of travelling to lots of place, fucked any chance of getting home insurance for the next 5 years, it will affect your employment chances in certain areas etc. They've made you pay a massive price.

oh well. to be honest i wouldn't have been that bothered with a little fine, infact i expected it. £60 or some shit. but the massive fine just added insult to injury. nevermind. my fault for being careless

seriously... for this little offense? oh for fucking christ sake. do all criminal records get treated the same?? if that isnt a complete piss take i dunno what is. tbh i cant even remember if they gave me a record, do they automatically give a record along with the crime?

lol im gunna get abuse but Thats what happens when ya do drone =D
only pissin bout but ouch, that's steep

just been reading this thread and whoa, they did a number on ya! cunts

Yeah, sorry mate, but you won't be allowed to go to the USA for sure, probably not Australia either. Were you convicted or just fined?

^^ Thought the jury was still out on this one? The general consensus seemed to be 'IF you tell them about it' last time I looked into that thread.

didn't even know about the home insurance one. fuck.

these things are black and white unfortunately, it doesn't matter what the offense is, its an offense.

even the arrest, without any conviction, makes you ineligible for some visa waiver programs.

its a totally shitty situation, especially since you got grassed on- i mean who the fuck, when they're out, is so bored with their own night that they have to stick their nose in someone else's business and cause them this amount of hassle?

Yeah a fine stays with you for 5 years. No-one will give you home insurance apart from a couple of specialist places and I'd look carefully at your motor insurance policy because they might try and fuck you over for that if they find out you've had a conviction and not informed them.

As for travel - the US is fucked for the rest of your life. Unless you go the sneaky route and declare you've never been arrested for drugs on your visa waiver form. But, if they catch you it's a few days in an american detention center, straight back on the plane and a life ban.

mephedrone... caused me a lot of grief, horrendous come downs, side effects, and now getting caught with a pathetically small amount of the dirty nasty stuff half a year ago has blown things out of proportion and fucked up prospects in my life. well aint this a nice slap around the chops. just when my life has been on the up, making changes, moving forwards, somethings always gotta go tits up

some self righteous, closed minded prick who thinks hes making the world a better place by getting a naughty, "bad" law breaking "druggie" in trouble, i expect. brainwashed by the media into thinking drugs are the crime of the century. probably chuffed with himself, supping on a nice glass of alcohol and smoking a manky nicotine packed ciggeratte being a hypocritical cunt like some of the drug opposing tossers are.

Oh yeah they're shit-hot on any convictions at the home insurance places. If you make a claim, they'll check up on you and refuse to pay. And they'll also put you on their unofficial list of "don't touch these sketchy cunts with a fucking bargepole" so your policy premiums will be fucking expensive for the rest of your life.

The best option might be either not having any house insurance for the next 5 years or going with a specialist place and avoiding ever telling the official places about it. Once the rehab of offenders kicks in after 5 years you might have a better chance. Although there's some question about whether you have to tell them whether or not you've EVER had a conviction.

colt- yeah you're right, he prob thinks he did a good thing. frustrating indeed.

for the home insurance, i can see like, fraud, or arson, but drugs? ridiculous. have a thing against home insurance ppl- could only get 2 quotes on my postcode and one of them was the sort of quote that says 'we don't want your business.'

i know its easy but please don't let this get you too down. i personally am a fan of the 'everthing was going right, but there's always something' trap, and you are absolutely right, this has seriously fucked with a lot of aspects of your life. but you've still made your changes and moved forwards, this is a hurdle but it doesn't negate the posiives.

Well, yeah. If you want to go to Merka, you're going to have to tell porkies.

Yeah it is, back in the 70s The West Ham Firm used the inter city rather than the cheaper football specials of the day, hence the name . You will find that West Ham are the the most copied Firm around 1st with the Casual clothes n also the 1st to have Black guys as Top Men

Aye, Rangers fans did the same. InterCity trains to away games. It's West Ham that the likes of The Firm, Green Street etc are all based on really init?

A life ban from entering the US - which you were banned from entering for life before you tried the sneaky route? Surely it'd be worth it in that case then so, considering you have so little to lose save a couple of days in a detention center? I get the feeling you mean a life ban from getting a visa though, however.

I'm not at all familiar with the legal workings of these things, but I know that a friend of a friend of mine has 18 convictions ranging from GBH and theft to possession of a controlled substance and a weapon and he stated all of this in his application for a visa into Austraulia and he was granted the bloody visa would you believe. I helped him word the letter and from what I can recollect, he was playing on the fact that after 10 years of failed attempts at rehab/various treatments (including that awfully bloody expensive chip they insert sub-dermal that blocks opiates from affecting the relative receptor) he kicked the gear a year previous to applying and wants to get on with his life away from where it all began, ie Dublin.

He also had pages of references and statements from family members, two priests and various important members of the community to vouch for him in terms of how he's reformed himself etc so all of these things can help. I can find out specifics for anyone if they need such information/are in the same/similar circumstances.

This chaps scenario is proof that honesty can go a long way; it seems to be at the discretion of the relevant Immigration Office/er(s) who review your application that will determine whether or not you'll be allowed entry, as I know he had applied a year previously and was refused but second time around - and surprisingly enough - he was successful. Ironically - after all that - he found Australia miserably depressing and ended up coming home less than a month later.

No, I don't think the US say "Anyone with a drug conviction is banned for life" - otherwise Paul McCartney wouldn't be touring there. I just think they make it so difficult that unless you are Paul McCartney you won't get in.

And the thousand plus quid you spent on the flight? And the money you paid at the place you're going to stay at? And ruining the holiday of anyone you were taking with you?

If losing several thousand quid doesn't worry you then you've done well in life.

I think they'd just red flag your passport if they caught you trying to sneak in.

Trouble is if you're honest - and they turn you down - does that affect your chances of sneaking in?

It's less honesty than perseverance and friends in high places.

Go to Jamaica instead. A friend rang their High Commission to check he'd be let in with his methadone. " What's that?" asked the Jamaican official. "An opiate drug on prescription" "That's cool," said the official " Don't you worry none."
