I agree with what was said earlier, that sometimes you have encounters with people or experiences where you come away thinking that that happened for a reason. I used to have this feeling about once a year on average, but in recent years (I am 25 now) I usually have a general sense of goodness in the world.
The difference was in me-- I gradually came out of shyness as a kid. I still am a thinker and somewhat introverted, but I am also very open-minded, honest to myself and others, friendly and accepting of others and sometimes initiating conversations. It feels good to be on the same wavelength as people-- be it friends, acquaintances, or strangers. I try to see past people's obnoxiousness and cockiness-- maybe they need to be that way because that is the only way they know or the easiest way to cope with their lives, until someone or something helps persuade them otherwise.
Also relating to what was discussed above, we should never be envious of others because for all we know someone with that great job is a liar and a jerk and that guy going out with that model might have a good job and is decent looking but he could be an ass and lies to her to keep her.
One last thing-- I know memorizing things suck, but part of learning and being efficient in certain jobs and in life depends on memorization. It shouldn't be the main thing tested but it should definitely play a good part. Sorry if you disagree.
Peace,
