Ok I am currently in community college and not on financial aid. I am planning on transfering to a university next semester and apllying for federal aid. I have been convicted of a drug charge does that disqualify me from aid? I thonk it does but I just wanna be sure. Also what if I lie on the application and say I havent been convicted do they have the recources to check? thanks peace.

considering it's federal aid, yes, they do check (assuming you're in the U.S.). from what i understand there are circumstances where you can get it anyway, but you really need to talk to a financial aid advisor at the college (either your current or the one you're transferring to).

I would discuss with a financial aid counselor in the school you are currently in to see what they suggest. Also, asking at the new school you want to enroll in wouldnt hurt as well. It can be verifed for sure if you lie.

ok and yes I am in the U.S. im transfering to the university of Alabama to be exact.

I know in NY state that if you complete a drug program (like outpatient or some shit) you can still get the aid. Otherwise you have to wait a year.

ya student loans are fucked up. im on osap in ontario canada and im not getting much money from them so if i dont find a job i will have to drop out of shool this year :(
