Finally made up my mind....

After long consideration on what to do about my heroin/opiate addiction, I have made up my mind to seek treatment. I will be going to a place called "The Recovery Place" in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I am a sucker for palm trees and am currently living in Chicago so a getaway seems pretty damn nice to me right about now. I have went through all of my money and pawned most of my goods, so I am just sick of this grind of withdrawalin and then trying to skeem some stupid shit to just for a few bags of d. Just straight sick of it. Any of you clowns heard of this place or have any thoughts?

i remember reading about studies, that if your in a different scenery/location then going through withdrawal will be easier

but if you go back to where you were in the hold of your addiction, it will be very hard to stay clean

so idk how serious you are about kicking but best case scenario you could stay away from where your contacts are until you are confident you dont need drugs anymore

or at the very least avoid/delete all your drug contacts when you return home

Congrats on seeking treatment, hope it goes well for you. Maybe look at some after care down there too and make some contacts in Chicago for your after treatment as well to set yourself up for success.

Wow More Power to You! I used to live ni Chicago,I had lots of fun there,but I now live in California.I can tell you no matter where the heck you go ,whatever your thing, it will be there............
I really got tired of all the crap that goes w/using it just got friggin old. I dont know if your a smoker or not(cigarettes) but I gave up smokes and it made it eaiser, smoking was a gateway for using for me. Granted my life aint changed a whole hellofalot,but I'm feeling alittle better everyday,I wish the best for you......
