Final Fatasy XI

I'm a recent convert to the FF series. I'm grown increasingly interested in the MMO that's available. I've heard that there is a lot of grinding involved in the game but that doesn't really bother me (I play a few Korean mmorpgs, need I say more?)

I've heard it's not very fun to play unless you can get a group of friends together to party with. None of my friends like MMO's so I was wondering if anyone on Bluelight would be interested in playing? I know time zones might be a problem, but I'm sure we could work something out though.

I never heard anything to make me interested in this game. Maybe if it were for free, I'd give it a try.

I hear it is populated mostly be kids (especially Japanese), and is therefore very socially frustrating.

^ Yeah they keep everyone on the same server. Plus PC users play with people on the PS2, etc.

I still think it might be worthwhile if we can get a party together. The system requirements are pretty low and its designed so even people with a 56k modem can play.

jam, not even the fighting system interested you? I here it's modelled off of FFVI.

I actually don't know much about its fighting system. I was under the impression that it was similar to everquest, though...

Apparently the system for FFXII was partially inspired by it. If it is anything like FFXII then that's good!
