I found when smoking via a water method that the high it lesser than if I was to smoke it via a non water bong e.g bagbong (or gravity bony as you yanks call it) Does smoking through a water chamber reduce the amount of THC inhaled? I know bong water turns black but I always figured it was just the tar ect in the water. Can anyone shed any light?

I don't see why this would be the case. Perhaps it is just a placebo effect you have developed from thinking that this is the case.

I remember a conversation about this in the past, I think someone provided a source that showed that you basically lose an insanely minimal amount of CBD/Ns, thc won't bind to the water -- exactly why drinking bong water won't get you high.

THC is water soluble but not very, so technically the water might filter some of it but i don't really think it's enough to notice, if it was people would have stopped using bongs by now, but i do think it makes enough of a difference to where if you only have one bowl left you might be better off putting it in a pipe, but then again that might depend on how good of a bong you have.

I have read it does have some very mild water solubility but not near enough for it to make any noticable differnce since it is so minimal. If you were to take a huge hit from a non water filtered pipe then there is a much greater chance of coughing it up which will make a noticble differnce. Don't worry about and just smoke; water filtered hits are the best.

Yeah its not going to be a difference. Maybe on like a microscopic scale, but not something that would change your experience. Bongs are my favorite smoking device especially with ice cubes in the neck. Makes the hits really smooth, feels like your breathing in air on a cold winter day.

I found this study but it's not up to date and it's old. In just the last few years there have been tons of advances in vaporizing with newer models and devices that vaporize cannabis.

Keep in mind that when people smoke out of a bong they tend to smoke more than they do from another smoking device. The smoke is cooled so you easily can smoke more and it's very easy to do this as I'm sure you know.

If you're really concerned about getting only THC and reducing tars and your lungs, get a vaporizer and start to use that.

Just about sums it up.

Closing thread, i think we have answered this question.
