trailer link

Now this looks like a real film, very much unlike the insult called United 93.

I will pay money to see this, very much unlike......

"A True Story Of Courage And Survival"

more like... a true story of incredible luck.

two 110 story buildings, basically, come crashing down on top of you and you survive.
insane!

i'll go see this.

it looks like a valiant police story form the trailer... but i am having a hard time believing it will be just that with stone directing it.
where are the theories of mass conspiracy prevalent in films like jfk? will they be there too?

from the trailer it looks like something i would def. be willing to pay to see. but trailers can be misleading as we all know.

then i see its directed by oliver stone and i kind of lose interest in this film already. :\

I got chills from the trailer, this looks quite legitimate unlike most of Stone's sensationalist crap. I'll pay for it.

Saw the first half last night but was then interrupted by the early return of fancy fresh. So far, i've enjoyed it quite a bit.
This is much more well made than that other sep11 piece of clap trap.

Will give full report when i complete the film. Should be by this weekend.

i refuse to see this movie. as a new yorker, i know that we're not healed yet. it's too soon. i'm also pissed that hollywood is making money off this incident... while families are still struggling to recover from their loss. it's just too soon.

They should make a movie about the tragic events that occured at the pentagon.. . . . .. . . .. .. . . .. . .. .

this is obviously a sensitive subject but i'm also interested to understand some of the issues that souny raises - so this is not a specific response to xena but rather a segue to a more generalised discussion.

that said, xena, you specifically said "we're not healed yet" which suggests you feel comfortable talking on behalf of all new yorkers. isn't it possible that some new yorkers are healed and some are not? is it possible that a celebration such as this might actually help some people rather than hinder them healing?

on the more generalised issue of "too soon", where does one draw the line? if 5 years is too soon is five years and one day not too soon?

10% of the profits from the first week go directly to the families of the 9/11 incident. Thats quite a bit of money. I personally think this film looks great, about heros, sacrifice, honor, and other good stuff. I can't wait.

in response to everyone's comments about what i said...

it's too soon because i know many families who lost someone and they're still recovering. they're not ok yet emotionally or financially. i know there were all these funds set up for donations after the attack- but did you know that most of that money went to families of police officers and firefighters. the children and families of people who worked in the wtc have gotten close to nothing as far as money is concerned. it's really sad.

and yeah, i knew about the 10% of the profits going to some fund. only 10%? and only the first week? i'm sure hollywood could have done better. and did nicholas cage donate 10% of his enormous paycheck to the fund also?

i'm definitely not alone in how i'm feeling about this. i don't personally know of anyone who plans on seeing this film now... or ever, really.

^^^

I see ur point souny and partly agree however i feel the same way as Xena....

I even thought the same exact thing....I cant believe they're banking on this shit soo soon...

Being from New Orleans i can understand the feeling of how tragic an event can be on ur everyday life....Its not necessarily the grieving or anything like that but its how much ur life changes after such catastrophic events....New Orleans is getting worse and worse everyday.....And im sure in about 5 yrs some Hollywood asshole is going to bank on it by making a movie.....

I think its just the principle of it really....the fact they're making money off of it....no matter which way u look at it...Its just BS when there's alot of people still financially affected

I dunno how to explain it.....but when something really does effect u first hand....You may understand :\
