alrighty, so this was released in the late 70s, maybe as a reaction to Star Wars. it's a very cool film with a surprisingly twisted ending for a Disney film. there's a great performance by Maximilian Schell as the evil scientist and also a feisty robot with ESP. i was completely fascinated with the film as a little kid, and watching it a couple of years ago, it still holds up. there's enough going on with the plot to overshadow any outdated special effects, imo. but the less sci-fi inclined might not be as forgiving...

I loved this movie as a kid. I definitely thought Maximilian (the robot) was scary as hell. I haven't seen or thought about this movie in years, but Bel's thread in CE&P made me think about it. I'm going to put it on my Netflix list for sure.
