I believe that it just came out in USA theaters for national release last Friday. You may have to check the website for a theater near you.

this was a great premise for a film, and i am really looking forward to checking it out.

i heard a lot about it on the radio, and the things this guy went through physically for this project are unbelieveable.

I saw this tonight, and loved it. It just didn't pack the punch i supposed it would.. on either side or both (attacking personal responsibility or corporations).

To me everything on it was simply entertaining experiment of something that is pretty much common knowledge. It's funny though..

I guess this film is more powerful in regards to audience size and accessibility. But Fast Food Nation as a book, delivers a much stronger message backed with information IMO.

^^ Well it's a docu-movie, they had to make it entertaining so that people would actually go and see it! If it was dubbed as a "documentary" they would lose big time @ the theaters.

I have no problem with the style of movie. But for example, lets ignore for a second Michael Moore lies his ass off..

He puts in far more information into his docu-movies, than this film did And Moore's films are powerful. I didn't quite feel the punch with this one.

The above article calls it "passive aggressive".. and I tend to agree. A bit far too passive for my liking. I think it needs to give those who don't take responsibility for themselves and the corporations who act without a conscious a swift kick in the nuts.

i liked this film a lot. i thought it would just be about the guy who only eats mcdonalds for a month. i was pleased that it also included interviews and statistics.

this film was great, although it didn't tell the audience anything we didn't already know. of course mcdonalds isn't healthy for you. it was interesting nonetheless. the statistics and interviews were frightening. what was up with that young, fat teenager who thought that she 'can't go on a diet because she can't afford to buy all her food from Subway'? wow. what are some of these people thinking.

this film was good and all, but i ate mcdonald's fries less than a week later.

i think this film sounds kinda interesting.

Whats actually really made me wanna see it is the new maccas ads that have come out. The ones that are ever sooo pathetically trying to rebut all the major claims made in the movie. Their kinda going 'well we could of told him we're a pack of lying bastards, he didnt have to go out and make a fucking movie about it!' Its great! good to see a corp squirm :D

i thought it was pretty lame - sure the guy seemed like a nice guy, and his aim wasn't all that bad. but the statistics weren't particularly forthcoming, and in such a case ya'll'd actually just be better off reading fast food nation by eric schlosser.

like digital said, this film was far too passive - it made its point but offered very little in terms of what to do, or what was *wrong*.

it was a pretty simplistic "junk food is bad for you" kind of message, and if ya didn't already know that you're probably struggling to cope with the world in the first place :)

^^

yeah fast food nation was a fantastic 'expose' of the whole system, but I think that having something in a visual media makes it much more available to the masses, so even though the message isn't as strong, it is reaching more people, and even though the message has been around for a while and does get repeated fairly often, I for one don't see it as a bad thing to repeat.

I loved the film, really enjoyed it... it should make me change at least some of my habits... I eat fast food maybe once a week or so, but I eat at uni cafeterias pretty much every day... That isn't the most healthy thing in the world :\

All in all it is a film with an important message that also entertains so it definitely gets a thumbs up from me :)

If you're too stupid to know that eating that shit food is not healthy for you than you deserve to be fat.

I can see how that philosophy might not stand up when you think about how these companies market their products to kids, but in those cases I just blame the parents for being shitty parents. It's not that hard to get your kids to eat right, and some kids are just naturally fat. Everyone always wants to point the finger at someone else in this country; when some kids shoot up a school we are so quick to make accusations: the parents must have been negligent, the media is full of violence. Fuck that, what ever happened to personal accountability in this society? Are we all such big babies that we can't take responsibility for our own actions?

Hey, if you're fat then get up off your fat ass, eat right and do some excersice. Don't sit around feeling sorry for yourself and blaming fast food conglomerates.

That being said, this was still an entertaining movie. I thought it was pretty funny when he throws up the first time he eats a Supersized meal. Just don't expect to leave the theater with a life-changing epiphany about the food you eat; you SHOULD already know that it's not healthy.

I thought the movie was really funny and a good way to bring long-known information/statistics to a bigger audience.

rented it last nite

I really liked this film
there is a very interesting interview with Eric Schlosser,
(the guy who wrote Fast Food Nation) on the DVD in the bonus features
true that most people already know that fast food isn't good for you,
but I was very entertained and some of the statistics were very eye opening (to me at least)

the extra's

there were some awesome extra's for this dvd-

an interview with the author of fast food nation which was pretty cool

oh, and when he kept the big mac, the quarter-pounder, the filet o'fish, and french fries under observation. please please please watch that part!!!
i think that was one of the biggest things that made my stomach turn. he kept all 4 of those items in separate covered glass jars for 10 weeks in hi office. he checked on them periodically. of course, all the food started to decompose and get gnarly mold ALL over it, and it oozed! but, here's the best part- even after 10 weeks, the fries looked like they were purchased the day before. think about all those times you've found a perfectly good looking fry in your car that you KNOW has been in there for months!

this movie definitely made an impression on me. yes, we all know that junk food is bad, but sometimes you really need to be slapped in the face with visual aids! i eat fast food about 2-3 times a month. well, i grabbed some mickey d's when i was super hungover after halloween. holy shit, after watching that movie, it really made it hard for me to choke that food down. all i could think about was the rock of non-nutrition in my tummy and french fries that need battery acid to make them decompose.

i found the thoroughly entertaining and thought-provoking. spurlock did a great job, i think.

supersize me KICKED ASS. i can't lie; i'm a mcdonalds lover and it only managed to make mcds seem repulsive to me for about a day before i had a cheeseburger, but the movie was great.

I saw this last week and it was a really good movie.. I wish that everyone could get a chance to watch it, I would recommend it to anyone..

I already am not a fast food eater.. but this definitely made never want to eat it...

true true, the fries from a year ago in my car do seem just as fresh and tasty... that never bothered me until now.
after hearding theres the schlosser interview i have to get the dvd and watch this again. the book was much more appealing to me and i would like to hear what he has to say in person.
