Bupe Film strips, question about intranasal

Hey there bluelight,

I've been on bupe for three years, and for 2 of those I used it intranasally. The reason for this is that it has a much higher bioavailability, and it saves me a lot of money. Anyway, I met with my doc, and at the appointment he told me that the manufacturer told him that people have begun smoking the suboxone pills. needless to say, he is switching everyone to the strips now.

Is there anyway to do them intranasally? I get how this sounds, but i do it because i can use less for more value, and it seems to kick into faster if i take it right before work or school or something in that manner.

I heard of people cutting it up into little strips and snorting them. I also heard about putting a small amount of water with the strip, and then snorting it; or, a little bit of alcohol, then using a blow dryer to dry it out and turn it into a powder.

Whats everyones preferred method for using the strips intranasally?

WTF.. I mean if he said people have begun sniffing or shooting but smoking? Just goes to show how disconnected some doctors are from the real world.

"it's an epidemic!!! everywhere you go people are smoking suboxone. I personally know someone who smokes 100mg a day!!!" yeah right.

If it were me I would dissolve it into water, suck into a syringe, stick syringe up nose (either break poitn off or be very careful) and shoot the solution up your nose. I find that more effective and WAY quicker than cutting the strip up.

I mean it's a whole lot of work for nothing IMO. Even though the BA is higher who knows how it works out if you take into consideration how much (if any) is lost/not hitting/being absorbed by the mucus membranes for whatever reason..

By the time you go through the whole process to prepare the strip etc.. you could have dissolved it under your tongue and be half way there to it hitting you lol.

Even sniffing the pills I feel that the amount potentially lost does not justify sniffing even though the BA is higher.. my Roxanne buprenorphine 8mg pills are 400mg.. that means if you wanna sniff 1mg of buprenorphine it has to compete with the other 49mg of inactive bullshit when hitting the mucus membrane.

I used to "blow" the subs into my nose using a technique with a bendy straw. I had to switch to that after my lungs got bad from snorting. The powder went so high into the sinuses (places never touched lol) that literally nothing was lost.

It just kind of sucks that my doc is so paranoid about that. I mean, i was just comfortable with my normal tablets. Hopefully someone has some insight into this process. Thanks for the response

The best way to do it is to dissolve the strips into water with an oral syringe, and "water-line" it (squirting it up your nose). You can also use a nasal pump, though you might want to consider getting some bacteriostatic water to keep you solution clean if you want to make a large batch.

^ That is what I was going to suggest. Use the oral syringe to measure the volume so you can calculate how strong each pump is.
Personally when I got switched to the strips I just started doing them sublingually. They do work way better than the pills when taken as directed.
I'd say the bio-availability feels about the same. With snorting you do get a faster onset and it's going to be more appealing to some people no matter what.

The strips dissolve so fast that to me..there really is no reason to do them any other way. I'm not looking to get high from the bupe though..not that I even could anyway. The slight euphoria is pretty weak, if you even get it at all. The old pills..I used to IV them because they tasted like shit and took fucking forever to dissolve under your tongue. However the strips solved that problem. I'm glad my doc switched me.

This is the safest way, creating a (I'd use saline over water for nasal administration) saline solution.
