i thought this movie was very good. well writen and it all ties together in a funny type of way.

why do movies like these never get the recognition they diserve?

Maybe because people gave all the recognition to this movie the first time it was released . . .

^^:D I think Snatch got a lot of media attention, certainly more than its afore-mentioned predecessor.

Brad Pitt does a fucking stellar job as does pretty much everyone involved. I was equally pleased that Sting made no appearance what so ever (always a bonus imo)

I've heard that Guy Ritchie is working on another picture thats supposedly gonna feature his lady...

. . . it IS a plus that there is no Sting in Snatch, and Pitt does a good job, but no Rory Breaker!

I like Snatch, I think its a good film, but I just don't think its as good as LS&TSB . . .

some movies are great, but dont get much praise cause theres no 'geeks' who can associate with it...

sorta like a cult thing.....

look at movies like,, matrix, star wars, lord of rings

biggest movies out there - cause the geeks support them. they have millions of websites on those movies...

but if u look at oceans 11 and matrix 1 at box office sells ocean 11 kicks its ass on the charts.....

...so why is matrix more famous - the geeks

Snatch has no geeks to support it. but its a great movie,.

I love this film. Well written, extremely funny, great characters and sufficient violence. Guy Ritchie is a great director. I would rate this ahead of Lock stock and two smoking barrells.

I think more importantly than having the support of the geeks the matrix is "The Hero Story" told over and over again just like Star Wars (I don't know about Lord of The Rings but I'm sure that is a variation of the hero story too) People LOVE the hero story and whatever cool way you can re-tell it people will love it and it will have a "geek following" .....IMO


And the movie Snatch FREAKING hilarious I loved it. It had a good soundtrack too. (how odd is it that madonna is on guy's soundtrack.. not very )

Lock Stock is much better. Both movies contain totally implausable plot points ("what the fuck are you doing here?" moments come up in both films ad nauseum). But Lock Stock is less slapstick.

~A really action packed strong begining

Lock Stock's strongest points
~RORY!!!
~Hatchet is a pretty ultimate villan
~Big & Little Chris
~Oh dear the scene w/ the subtitles and all the slang(personal fave)

IMO (of course) lock stock is the original and ritchie takes a winning fromula, adds a few new tricks (brad pitt and benecio del tourro(sp?)) to make another film. Dont get me wrong, i love both of them but Lock Stock did if for me

^^totally agree with you there, especially about Rory, IMHO one of the best characters in cinema history, let alone better than any other character in a Richie film.

hatchet harry vs bricktop is a perfect example for why lockstock is the better picture...

bricktop is an over done, but still awesome, version of the original

oooohh i just figured that boris vs rory is the same kind of comparison

both leave me feeling better about lockstock than snatch... but fuck all if brad pitt isnt amazing in snatch

i'm a huge fan of 'lock, stock...' and i really did not enjoy snatch when i first saw it. i expect i was, rather unfairly, comparing the two.

i waited a few months and saw it again and enjoyed it a lot more. i think i just needed to put some space between them.

so if you did not enjoy it, consider a second viewing?

However, I will highlight my favourite scences in both.

"Shrinking Peckers" ie Bullet Tooth Tony and the Desert Eagle speech

and/or

"Harry beating the shit out of someone with a big black rubber dildo."
