Film: School of Rock

I am a big fan of Jack Black but with the price of movies today, I'm wondering if it's worth the $9 to see this movie. Has anyone seen it? Opinions?

It's not out over here yet, but i saw the trailer and it tempted me i must say. Jack Black can make a bad movie watchable just by being in it.

it's fucking hilarious and well worth $9. the plot is somewhat cheese but jack black is basically allowed to run wild throughout the whole movie. many, many classic lines.

^^^I totally agree. I thought it was cheesy in some parts but Jack Black is really funny and the kids were cute without being saccharine.

It's worth the price of admission (movies are so expensive in California, but then everything else is too).

This movie was the best. They finally made a movie with child actors that wasnt completely corny and "cute". Jack Black is funny as hell and has amazing energy that is hilarious and never over the top and plays so well in a movie about rock music. Some of the kids were pretty talented and I was actually diggin their song at the end of the movie. Plus I thought it was great how they had the shout out to AC/DC with Jack Blacks uniform. It might have been a little bit better if it hadnt been a family comedy and they could have had some more mature themes, but it still did a great job being family friendly but not sugary and stupid. thumbs up!

I liked it, but from what I remember it was ridiculously slow going for about the first 45 minutes or so and then the tempo raised and it was really entertaining. Overall I liked it except for the start which bored the pants off me...

I thought this flick was greatness... I wish I'd seen it in the theatres with my kid, but I'll have to content myself with the DVD. I've watched it with my daughter, and we have a great time enjoying it together.
