Has anyone heard or seen anything about this? The other day i saw a preview for it on TV and it says its to be released the 28th of this month. Its like it came out of nowhere, because thats the first and only time ive heard about it. It looked pretty bad ass though.

Anyone have any info on it?

Trailer for Saw 2 here:
http://www.saw2.com/

Saw was a pleasant suprise. It wasn't the psychological suspense film that Seven was, but it still had some good bits. Call me a cynic, but sequels to horror films usually aren't very good, so I'm not expecting too much from the new one.

yeah, they didn't do too good of a job advertising for this one. the first i heard of a sequel was earlier this week when i saw a commerical. (although with how the last one ended, weren't you expecting a sequel?)

i liked saw- pretty good psychological thriller. i like movies that make me wonder, "What the fuck is wrong with him/her!?!" i was definitely thinking that about the mastermind in the first one. the set up for this one seems different- i think there are a few people in a house...

depending on reviews, i may go to the theater for this one, or a may just wait for it to shsow up on cable. i'm not expecting much out of a sequel, though.

^^ huh?

the first i heard of a sequel was earlier this week when i saw a commerical.

same here. i love movies like this. Im not really into horror movies. I like the thriller type movies that keep you wondering "whats gonna happen next?", not "when im gonna get scared next?" Psychological thrillers, like youve all said.

28 Days Later is an example of the type of thrillers i think are good. A lot of people didnt like that movie, but if you watch it a few times and really pay attention to it all, its pretty sweet.

As for Saw 2, yes it is hard to make a sequel to movies like this UNLESS you live the first one open for a sequel, just like they did in the first one.

Yea, but alot of people did like 28 days later too. It was actually critically acclaimed as far as horror movies go, and I thought it was excellent.

Oh for sure, i never said no one liked it. It was a damn good movie. Im glad to hear you like it because most people that i talk to about it hate it.

I'm really happy with the trailers on the site.
Personally loving Saw, it should make a great sequal.... but we'll have to see in 12 days I suppose. :)

As someone mentioned, the first Saw was a very pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting much from it, since it came out with the whole other trailer load of horror flicks back then, but it was definitely one of the very few that I enjoyed spending money and time on.

Thanks for the heads up on Saw 2, I was completely unaware.

Congrats on your mod position, Banquo, I missed that one too. :)

i dont know where they would go with a sequel to saw. saw 2 will probably suck. 28 days later is like affirmative action for horror movies there is no way it could be considered better than good.

Elaborate on how Saw 2 will suck. You dont give any basis for that statement. And how is 28 days later "affirmative action" for horror movies?

The first film was twisted as hell. I can't wait to see the sequel.

i dont know where they would go with a sequel to saw.

The same direction the first movie went: Jigsaw puts his victims in horrific "puzzles" where their will to survive is put to the extreme test.

This time, the "puzzle" seems to be on a larger scale, with Jigsaw locking a group of people away in an abandoned and booby-trapped shelter and forcing them against each other to gain the prize of his game: an antidote to the nerve agent that's slowly being pumped into the house.

Apparently, the ex-junkie that survived in the first film will be returning for the sequel. I'd like to see what, if any, significance she'll have to the overall story.

Ok, well, Saw was pretty medicore movie. The only thing that kept it from being completely horrible was a semi interesting plot, and the only reason it was semi interesting was because it was filled with improbable twists. Saw is the kind of movie that would totally suck to watch twice because the whole appeal is basically the writters saying gotcha, and these kinds of movies generally make the worst sequels because the original has the least replay value. Unless Saw 2 is a radical departure from Saw (which I doubt), chances are its basically going to be the same thing as Saw and i seriously cant imagine watching Saw again. Also sequels to horror movies are never good. They just aren't. Give me one example (that isnt ED/AoD bc thats not horror anyways).

28 days later was a decent movie, but it was totally undeserving of the amount of hype it got. There really wasn't anything amazing about the movie. The cinematography was sort of cool and the plot, characters, and acting was a little more "grown up" than movies like Friday the 13th but I don't think there was anything in there to make it better than good. I say "affirmative action" because I think the genre had more to do with the amount hype the movie got than the films own strengths. While 28 days later might have qualified as being great horror, it was not a great movie imo.

Just saw the new trailer 5 minutes ago on TV and picked up a few things I didn't see in the previous trailers. If this movie's going to try and throw another twist ending, I may have unfortunately figured it out already. Now I'm going to go see the film in hopes of proving myself wrong. :\

^^^that is the worst! (when you figure out something in a movie way before you're supposed to)

i hope you're wrong about the twist and still enjoy the movie.

As far as decent sequels, I thought Hellraiser 2 was better than the first (not hard to do), and Poltergeist 2 was decent.
