^What an interesting article; I wasn't aware that the character was based on a real person (and even played by the real guy :))

I recently saw this movie as well. It's one of those movies that you think about way after you're done watching it. It might be because I'm pregnant right now, but watching how this girl's life was so much more difficult than mine, and how she came to the decision to be a drug mule was very moving for me.
 
i really liked this flim. it definitely had the feel of the type of film that i enjoy- slower-paced, low-budget. interesting to see a less shown perspective in the war on drugs.
