I loved this movie! Thought the acting was pretty good, espcially the lead character, and liked the more realistic aspect of the drug dealing biz....

Really good plot above all

I didn't really care for the movie at all, and I really expected to love it. I can't even remember that much of it, not because I was trashed but because nothing really stood out.

I have to admit that A) It did have a nice style to it, and B) I generally have a hard time following fast paced movies with entirely british cast members, a lot of the dialogue goes over and around my head.

I remember watching this a couple of weeks after re-running Lock Stock. Needless to say, I didn't like Layer Cake as much. I'd watch it again though. I liked the other one enough to buy a copy.

3 stars

Hrm, I thought I recalled seeing another thread on this before...Maybe not. The movie was entertaining, that's for sure. Just another stylized drug dealing flick, however. Worth a watch.

The movie is solid however I particualry love the opening scene with the narration and drug products on the shelf. "Good times today, stupid tommorow" so true.

i enjoyed this film, good acting, the only part i didnt like was trying to keep up with what they were talking about. british talk sounds too wierd to myself .. 3/4

this movie was fabulous! i was really pleasantly surprised by craig, he was great. i am a big fan of this genre of movies, i can't get enough.

I hated this movie. I cant fucking stand British accents in the 1st place and was it me or did it sound like they were mumbling the whole movie. Also, they made it seem like slangin coke was easy and acted all non-chilant about it like anyone could do it....

The dude was Like Oh, i only deal with kilos...no big deal.

It just seemed so unbelievable to me. Those guys would get robbed and killed in a second in America.

Umm... excuse the spoilers, but pretty much everyone in the whole film got robbed and/or killed at some point! :p

out of interest, if you "cant fucking stand British accents in the 1st place" why on earth did you rent/go see it?

It was free on Comcast on demand and in the description of the the movie it said it was a movie about coke. It didnt say anything about being set in England. I never heard of it until that day. So i gave it a chance and i didnt like it.....Oh well.

they talk in british accents from the very beginning - i'm intrigued why you would stick with it if you feel so passionately about the accent?

I didnt stick with it. I never said i watched the entire movie. I turned it off right around that part where they were at the plant nursery. Now that i look back at my previous post, I could see where you might think that, but no.

Also, im not passionate about disliking British accents. It just gets under my skin a little and i cant sit though 2 hours straight of it. Thats all. I wouldnt like condone a British accent holocaust or anything like that. However, I would condone slapping a person with a British accent in the mouth if they were talking in my ear for the whole night.

I thought it was 'stupor tomorrow'. ah well, good flick... i've seen it a number of times. uhh... probably around a dozen times actually. I enjoyed how the element of style hits the quota without going over, as many flicks tend to. excellent editing
