i believe this movie is gonna be sweet , i love the trailer it looks like he does a real job considering how old he is and considering 99% of movies in the last year and a half have been so bad i welcome this movie

Oooooh. I want to see this. I loved the first two indiana jones movies but I never saw the last one.

I dont even care if its good, as long as Shia Labeouf is on the screen a lot. I want to be forever boned by him LOL..no really, he is so hot it kills me. Rawr! :)

^seriously, watch the last crusade. it is by far the best one of the series. ^

ok Ill make a note to see it before I see the new one.
For some reason, I dont like Harrison ford very much. Something about him creeps me out. I dont know what it is!

well, the last crusade is so good because ford's ego is put into place with sean connery's presence. the chemistry between the two is delightful imo.

i played the VHS i had of the last crusade to death. literally. the film actually tore off the spool where it was stuck on at the very end. i was so distraught that i took the cassette apart and used masking tape to fix it.

having said that, this better hit 8/10 on imdb or i wont be seeing it out of fear that it'll totally ruin my respect for the best adventure trilogy ever conceived

Im really looking forawrd to this. Watching with my kids and my GF will be a treat.

Saw this Monday night at an advance screening.

EDIT: Spoiler cut lifted now that it's in theaters.

Yay! Overall, it was a good movie! It was very true to the adventure and "swashbuckling" spirit of the earlier films. But the biggest surprise was how well Harrison Ford looked! You aren't always thinking about how old he is, he is just Indiana Jones the way you remember him.

There are a couple of funny references to the fact that everyone is older, and some very welcome nods to the other movies (especially Raiders). Cate Blanchett is fantastic as the villianess.

The action scenes are done pretty well. They were my favorite part of the older movies - the fact that it was real people doing things, not cgi, and that's how it is for the majority of Crystal Skull.

I only have two nitpicks. The first is don't look to hard at the timeline. Just accept things and move on, because certain bits don't hold up to scrutiny. Second, Steven Spielberg is a creative genius. His imagination is what created Indiana Jones to begin with, but even geniuses need to be reined in once in a while. There are two scenes specifically that start out so well and are amazing, but then he takes it one step too far, into preposterousness. He needs to learn how to just let a good scene be good, not try to take it over the edge all the time.

Definitely worth seeing, but my allegiance still lies with Raiders.

I just rewatched Raiders last night. Seeing it again after Crystal Skull, I can't believe the number of references and film geek nods to Raiders that KotCS has!

GL has indicated that they may do a 5th film with that shia kid as the main character and harrison in a fatherly figure role like connery in the last crusade.

Film: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

So what did you guys think?

I loved the movie up until the very end which I felt was so-so.

:)

Lots of fun adventure stuff and one guy got eaten alive by ants! Totally cool!

saw it last night. i was tired but very excited to see the movie and i was pretty disappointed. harrison ford just phoned in his performance. shia labeouf was pretty good inasmuch as he injected some enthusiasm and cockiness.

high point for me was seeing karen allen back in an indy flick. low point - the plot...

:\

It was ok, felt kind of hollow and forced at times. They just seemed to gloss over the whole story, like they included it simply as a backdrop so indy could have some antics.

Also, they totally stole the whole conceptualization of the valley where the temple is from a 3 episode arc of Ducktales where they go in search of the legendary city of gold. It looks the same, it had the same sort of in a valley inside of a mountain type thing going on,a nd it got buried the same way. just struck me as sort of odd.

just saw it last night and loved it! there were a few scenes that were pretty cheesy, and at that point i was sitting there going wha?? but as soon as they were over the fun was back on. i enjoyed it more than raiders and last crusade, but not as much as temple of doom.

cate blanchett and shia lebouf are as wonderful as i expected...cate blanchett is so damned beautiful, she doesn't even need to speak to make a presence. and shia is just adorable and pleasing, though nothing stupendous.

overall pretty damn good. so many wonderful action scenes, and the ending was awesome.

luved it! characters and plot aside, Spielberg knows how to shoot action sequences better than just about anyone else. there was none of that cheap jerky cam that plagues the Bourne movies. yes, the dialogue is sometimes cheesy, but try watching any Indiana Jones objectively, and you'll find the same thing.

it was alright. silly action movie does it's job: insert just enough "story" to string a bunch of action/special effects shots together. (not so different to a porno actually)

got a little bored of them outrunning certain and spectacular death by a whisker. i get far more thrills from atmosphere than noises. what is the point to guns in indy movies? several ak's firing at a car and nothing is hit, car chases going .... wherever with no one thinking of hitting the breaks. silly stuff.

funnily, i liked the characters most of all, and they're all very single dimensional.
