i'm surprised i haven voted nor commented. saw this a while back and enjoyed it quite a bit. although colin farrel plays almost the same part (emotion wise) as he did in woody allen's superior "cassandra's dream", it still worked superbly.
the humour misses most of its marks imo. the midget stuff is tired.
thumbs up for its darkness and i absolutely loved raph fiennes in this.

the only real weak part of the movie imo. i saw this a few months ago when it came to the local brew pub/theater after its major theater run. what i thought was going to be a mildly entertaining buddy picture turned out to be a thoughtful dark comedy that totally changed the way i look @ colin farell... who knew

i saw this a while ago and high as fuck at that but i do remember that it was eeexxcellent. it was clearly designed for north american audiences, but the scenery and atmosphere act as sort of an invisible hue to emphasize the quirks of the characters in a way that's somewhat reminiscent of classic brit humour. or maybe i'm just ignorant.

i thought it was really good, watched it on my small laptop last night then burned it onto dvd and watched it on the big tv with my dad tonight. He really liked it too.
Does anyone else think that for the first few times you heard and saw harry he reminded you of Ben Kingsley's character in the film Sexy Beast?? Me and my dad both thought so.

Easily one of the funniest movies I've seen in a while, complete with dwarf on LSD. You can't go wrong with that.

Not quite as funny as I was expecting (I reckon at least 40% of the gags were off-target or laboured) and it certainly started off quite slow, but it gradually picked up pace into a snappy, off-beat little comedy.

Definitely worth a watch.

Watched it on a recommendation from a friend, and I thought it was terrific. I also gained a bit of respect for Colin Farrell, and any movie with both Brendan Gleeson (who is highly underrated IMO) and Ralph Fiennes is pretty much a can't miss.
