I was curious if anyone has seen it and what your thoughts on it were.

I read that Poste saw it.. i'd love a review (hint).

I am the only one of all my friends that is interested in seeing it.. thankfully i have one film loving guy that i am dating that wants to see it and plans are in the making to see it this weekend.

I'd love to know if it's worth it, or should we see something else and wait for DVD.

I love the 20's-30's, musicals and outkast, and it just seems like a cute storyline - i personally think i'd like it, it's just hard to go on no feed back from anyone i know.

Thanks :)

im interested to see what outkast has made. some of the soundtrack i have listened to is not half bad.

Before this film, I'd never heard of Bryan Barber. I'll say one thing - I don't like musicals and I was impressed. I got dragged out against my will, bribed with a little sumtn-sumtn later that night [

], so I went into this fully prepared to suffer. I was very pleasantly surprised.

The cinematography was excellent! Most of the music was great. The acting was good. If I could divide the film into four parts, and rate each:

part 1: 5 stars
part 2: 4 stars
part 3: 2 stars
part 4: 3 stars

Overall, that gives the film a 3.5 star average. Had the pace and jollity of the first part been carried through its entirety, I'd have given the film six stars without reservation. As it stands, a 3.5 from me. Consider this equivalent to a 4 coming from me, since I don't like musicals.

One of the kids in part 1 is a riot.

edit: I completely forgot. The only thing that I really didn't like about this film is its overabundant use of "niggah". I mean c'mon, Bryan. Niggah, please!

This movie looks really great actually, can't wait to see it. I'm not usually a musical fan but this one looks very unique.
