tambourine-man
Bluelight Crew
Yet another Eidos video game adaptation for the big screen, this is really seeking to go where Tomb Raider and that crappy franchise about zombies went... and failed.
According to the IMDB entry, Timothy Olyphant (of dire Die Hard 4 fame) will play the central role of Agent 47 - the genetically engineered assassin who becomes caught up in a political takeover, with both Interpol and the Russian military chasing him across Eastern Europe as he attempts to discover who him up and why he has now become the target.
Timothy Olyphant - Agent 47
Dougray Scott - Mike
Olga Kurylenko - Nika
Robert Knepper - Yuri
Ulrich Thomsen - Mikhail Belicoff
I gotta say, casting this schmuck seems lke a mistake. 47 is supposed to be a mean-looking, brooding, steely-eyed killer... carved out of oak - not some trust-fund-sapping, all-teeth-and-smiles surfer who happened to shave his head for a laugh. And Dougray Scott??? That guy pretty much puts the kiss of death on any film's credibility. He should really stick to killing middle-age housewives on Wisteria Lane with his dreadful accents.

I'm just bitter. I loved the games, but it seems this is doomed to be yet another toned-down effort to appease the PG-13 audience. I just hope it doesn't take on the campy overtones of almost every other video game adaptation.
