film: Heavy Metal

I don't know if I'm the only one here, but I find this movie so great, even if it's older (1981).

Always watched it sober, or on alcohol, but when I'll get some acid or RC, I want to watch it from another angle :)

The last part, unreleased in the original version, is so awesome, a kind of nightmare.

Other fans of this movie here?

The idea of the Loch-Nar is really cool :)

i used to watch this when i was much younger... maybe in the 8th grade or so...
since it has been years i dont remember too much but i enjoyed it then

Yeah I watched this in freshman year while I was really high and remember enjoying it immensly. I pinched my girls nipples every time the heavy metal chick got nekked so maybe thats why it sticks out in my mind :X Anyways, the first one was class. The second one ( heavy metal 2027?) sucks ass.

^^^

I couldnt agree more.....First one is a fucking classic.....Second one did suck major ass

I saw this when i was somewhere in H.S and sober but it blew me away....You know trippy movies like this are damm good when u dont need the aid of drugs....

Its kinda like a drug on its own.....

A movie taht i thought that was heavilt influenced by heavy metal and almost as good was the "Animatrix"

I liked it. My taste in animation is a little different though. I like Raplh Bakshi's stuff.

Wizards

Heavy Traffic

American Pop

eh im biased. ive always hated that movie for being everything heavy metal isnt.

I really liked it, awesome and original animation as well a pretty kickass soundtrack. I wouldn't say it's the greatest movie ever, but it DID have some really amazing parts that MADE the movie (Zombies on a plane)

I haven't seen it in at least 15 years. But I have such special memories of it that I'm not sure I would want to ruin them by seeing it again.
Waiting until after my parents were asleep and watching it with the sound down low, knowing they would murder me if they caught me watching it.
Good times.

Apparently tommorow's episode of South Park is supposed to be a tribute to this movie.

^ i was the same way. hadn't seen it for like 10 years or something, then one day i bought the DVD on a whim. it's still great! really stood the test of time imo =D

The original is a classic. I've spent many late nights messed up on one thing or another alone or with friends just enjoying this one. Something about the vibe is what makes the movie with nods to film noir, campy sci fi and all of it humorous or at least tongue-in-cheek. Maybe it's the time period that it first came out in...don't know for sure, but it is a classic regardless.
