Saw this last night. I'm not quite sure what to make of it.

IMDB Link

Christian Bale plays an ex-Ranger with some obvious emotional difficulties that have resulted from (or were instrumental to) his experiences in Iraq. His performance, though slightly hampered by some cliche production, goes from loving boyfrend, to full-blown psychotic... and he does it convincingly.

Anyone else?

Yeah, I saw it a while back Tambo.

Huge fan of Christian Bale movies, as he's a brilliant in them all. I was expecting a bit more, but not exactly sure how or why. It was a good movie which I thoroughly enjoyed, but I couldn't help feeling uneasy about his character & his ever increasing weird behaviour. Which is obviously what they were going for. His whole life plan after serving his country & finding himself on civvy street goes tits up. Affecting not just him, but everyone around him.

A real danger to society.

lets just say that its not uncommon for some super soldiers to come home to their loving families, and then the families die when the soldier snaps. war fucks people.

I liked the movie. I was dissapointed however by the abrupt ending. In my eyes it the movie should have had him going even deeper into his psychosis, perhaps allowing it to completely take him over at some point.

And yes, Bale's acting was brilliant as usual.

I just saw it... thought it sucked arse because the plot was boring and the writing sucked. Nobody actually says DAWG four times in a sentence unless they're really fuckin stupid

That's actually fair comment.

They kinda labelled the ghetto slang a little... almost to the point of it being parody.

I know people who talk like that. It's just a way that not-so-ghetto-wannabes talk. It's quite common where I come from actually. It's a very good way to tell when somebody is fake, when they use to much slang.

I just caught this tonight. I am a pretty big Christian Bale fan, but I had a real difficult time with this movie. I know there really are people out there who talk like that, but Christian Bale is not one of them. Freddie Rodriguez COULD pull off that kind of character, he has in the past... but he somehow tanks this one right along side Bale.

Not a fan.
